DiscoverBangla #15~ I Explore Mujibnagar, a historical place in Meherpur..
Hello Everyone,
Today I am here again with a travel post. Today's post is about a famous place in a small district of Bangladesh. The name of this district is Meherpur district. The famous stand here is the Mujibnagar. This Mujibnagar is the most historical place in Meherpur district. It would be wrong to call it Meherpur district. It is one of the most historical places in Bangladesh. Many people come to visit here. This Meherpur district is our own district. I live in this district, so I thought I would take you on a tour of this historical place so that you can also know a little about this place and see it. I hope you will like today's post.
Then we came to the gate of that historical place. There was nothing much here, only this simple gate which was quite nice. There were some shops on both sides of the road and some restaurants. Then we headed towards that historical place through the gate. As we went forward, we saw a pillar that said Mujibnagar Zero Kilometer, it seems that Mujibnagar started from here. Then we kept moving forward, there was a house in front which is the sub post office of Mujibnagar. Then we kept moving forward. In front, I saw a mosque which was very beautiful, looking at this mosque, it seems that the mosque is very old. This mosque was built a long time ago. Then we crossed all these and moved forward and continued exploring this place.
Then going a little further, I saw an abandoned house which was very old. We did not enter the house but saw the house from the outside. Then we moved forward and reached the place of interest. Sitting here, I saw a lotus flower of a man which I liked. Then here we saw the statues which reminded us of that year 1971. We have all read and know the events of 1971, so when we came here and saw these statues, we could not understand what actually happened at that time. If you notice here, you will see that a man is giving a speech, this is the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, because of whose speech the people of Bangladesh jumped into the war with the Pakistanis. In this war, there are many great leaders who sacrificed their lives to save Bangladesh, this place has been built today in memory of them.
Then we saw some more statues in front of it, here a man is paying respect to some people, these are the people who fought with the occupying forces in Pakistan. Actually, our Pakistani forces have done a lot of atrocities on the people of Bangladesh. They have killed many innocent people and destroyed the honor of many mothers and sisters. Even then, the people of Bangladesh did not give up, they liberated Bangladesh after nine months of fighting, this place was built in memory of them. There is some story of every moment here, which I may not be able to explain to you properly, but I will explain as much as I can. The next statue is meant to commemorate the first government of Bangladesh formed in Mujibnagar on April 17, 1971. It depicts the swearing-in of the cabinet members of the provisional government.
Then we go to the statue next to it, this statue is meant to represent the surrender of the Pakistani occupying forces. They surrendered to the Pakistani occupying forces at the Racecourse Maidan on December 16, 1971. This statue was made to show people, which is really extraordinary, I like it a lot. Then here we see some more statues which show some people setting fire to a house, these are the Pakistani occupying forces who used to torture innocent people and burn their houses. The next statue is meant to represent the Pakistani occupying forces who used to forcibly capture the mothers and sisters of Bangladesh and destroy their honor. They used to forcibly capture many mothers and sisters in this way and destroy their honor. They were so violent that they could capture anyone they wanted and beat them and kill them. Then here we see another statue which shows the Pakistani occupying forces killing their husbands in front of many mothers and sisters or destroying the honor of their daughters in front of their fathers. They had become so violent that they were abusing the people of Bangladesh.
Then I take a picture of these statues in a frame which I will keep with me. Then I see some more things here. Some pillars had some writings about this war and Mujibnagar which I read a little bit but I don't remember now. You can read it if you want. Then I move on to explore further.
There were some more statues in front which we can see. These statues already convey the meaning of the Pakistani occupation forces who used to atrocities on the innocent people of Bangladesh. They used to attack people's houses at night. They killed many people in this way. Unable to bear this atrocities, the people of Bangladesh jumped into the war with them. There was no person in Bangladesh who did not participate in the war. Farmers, students, women and men of Bangladesh participated in this war in exchange for their blood. Today we have this independent Bangladesh. They liberated this Bangladesh with their blood. We remember them when we come to this place. This place has been built in their memory.
The Pakistani occupying forces were so violent that they attacked schools where many young boys and girls were studying. They also killed them. Bangladesh went through the most difficult time on the night of March 25. On that night, the Pakistani occupying forces killed many people of Bangladesh. That night, they called it Operation Searchlight. That night was a terrible night for the people of Bangladesh. However, despite all the dangers, we finally defeated the Pakistani occupying forces and declared this Bangladesh as an independent Bangladesh. We will always remember those who sacrificed their lives to save this Bangladesh.
That's it for today!I appreciate your time and attention. At the end of this post, you can comment and let me know how you liked my post and if you have any questions, I will try to answer them inshaAllah. I hope you like it. See you soon..
