Time and Chance

Good Morning Hivers!

I'll love to share with you all this inspiring pieces of mine titled "Time and Chance". I'll begin with how i actually came about this beautiful idea of mine, I mean the that fact that a plant was growing out of a a pair of shoe.

This idea was birthed from what i will call a life story or occurrence. I observed an abandoned pair of shoe, what caught my attention was the rugged look of the shoe. I found it interesting so I just observed it for a while and left it there without placing my hand on it.

Few months later, I noticed that one of the shoes now have plants in it. I mean the right leg shoe was having plant but the other shoe doesn’t. Inspiration and questions jumpt at me and I began to wonder. This shoe both set out on this abandoned journey together, just like twin that were birthed on the same day and time or friends or classmate that start or end an education journey together. And one is doing better than the other.

So I gathered my thought and decided to create a story around this idea. I decided to create a sculpture pieces of three different pairs of shoe. The first pair represented the first stage I met this shoes. Just there and abandoned without plant.

The second pair, now one of the shoe having a plant made of metal by me ( Infinite Ife ) in it. This stage was the state I met and observed the real pair of shoe the second time, which got me wonder why it was just one of the shoe that have plant.

Then the third pair is my own part of the story. I mean this didnt happen in the reality. So we can call it my own judgment as a creator or god as an artist. For this third stage or third pair of shoe. There was plant in both shoes. Remember the second stage we plant grown in just one of the shoe? Now in the third stage i made that shoe that started out with plant to remain that way without extra growth and then made the second shoe that was without plant in the second stage now grow into becoming a beautiful red rose. This time it cacthed up with the other plant and went ahead to grow to become something beautiful. Yes! That is judgment.

The moral of the story behind this master pieces is that ; the fact that you're actually slow in making progress in life doesn’t mean you wont be successful or you wont be a success or you're a failure. Your siblings, your friends in school, your colleagues in life can be doing better now, it doesn't mean you can't be the best.

This whole process gave me a clarity to a bible verse and I'll love to share it with you all. It says; "I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time." Ecclesiastes 9:11 NLT
