An outing with artwork and laughter | Blog [ENG/ESP]

Hello everyone, this time I'm here to share what this little outing was like a few days ago, with a few things we took advantage of and even a few good laughs we had with my sister who, well, as I've said lately, has been inseparable with me on these little walks we've been taking.

Hola a todos, en esta ocasión vengo a compartir lo que fue esta pequeña salida hace días con varias cositas que aprovechamos a realizar e incluso unas buenas risas que hubo junto con mi hermana que, pues, como he dicho últimamente, ha estado inseparable conmigo en estos pequeños paseos que hemos estado realizando.

Well, to start with, the initial objective this time was to find a place here in San Juan where the prices of catnip weren't so high, since I feel like they've gone up too much recently. I usually buy half a kilo for my cats every week, and the last few times I felt like the price was going up too much. So, at first, we looked in several places until we managed to find a place where half a kilo (which was somewhat mixed) cost almost $2.70, so we definitely took advantage of it. Then, we ran into my uncle at work and he told us about another cheaper place, so we agreed to go later.

Pues para comenzar, el objetivo inicial en esta ocasión era buscar un lugar acá en San Juan donde los precios de lo que es la gatarina no estuvieran tan elevados, puesto que recientemente siento que han subido demasiado, y para mis gatos suelo comprarles semanalmente medio kilo, y en las últimas ocasiones sentía que el precio iba muy en aumento, por lo que en primera estuvimos buscando en varios lugares hasta que logramos encontrar un local donde nos salía el medio kilo (el cual estaba algo mezclado) en casi 2,7$, por lo que sin duda aprovechamos. Lo cual, luego, nos encontramos con mi tío en su trabajo y nos comentó de otro lugar más económico, así que quedamos en ir luego.

Once the mission was complete, we decided to walk around for a while and stretch our legs. Out of curiosity, we went to a clothing store to see what they had. This store is a secondhand store, so it usually has sales, and among them, we found pants for $5, sweaters for $4, and, personally, in the men's shirt section for $5, these Captain America comic- and anime-themed shirts, in this case featuring Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh. I fell in love with them. But because I didn't have the budget, I had to hide them, hoping to go back later (and that they're still there, haha), but they did have some really nice clothes.

Ya una vez completada la misión, decidimos pasear un rato y mover las piernas. Para esto, fuimos por curiosidad a un sitio de ropa a ver qué había. Esta tienda es de segunda mano, por lo que suele tener ofertas, y entre estas vimos pantalones a 5$, suéteres a 4$ y, en lo personal, en la sección de camisas de hombre a 5$, estas camisas con temática de cómic del Capitán América y de anime, en este caso con Kaiba de Yu-Gi-Oh, que me enamoraron, pero por no tener el presupuesto me tocó esconderlas, esperando poder ir luego (y que aún sigan allí, jajaja), pero en sí tenían ropa muy bonita.

As we continued walking, we saw something that caught our attention. Outside the city's public library, they had a newly painted painting on display of what is known here as the Old Thermal Hotel. This structure has been here for many years and holds a lot of history for the area. We really liked it and took the opportunity to take a photo.

Mientras seguíamos caminando, vimos algo que nos llamó la atención, pues afuera de la biblioteca pública de la ciudad tenían en exhibición un cuadro recién hecho de lo que se conoce acá como el Antiguo Hotel Termal, una estructura con muchos años acá y con mucha historia para la localidad, por lo que simplemente nos gustó mucho y aprovechamos a tomar foto.

We sat for a while in Plaza Bolívar, resting from the walk while we called a friend and planned our next stop. The good thing was that it didn't rain that day, but it wasn't sunny either, so the day was pretty perfect, at least in my case.

Estuvimos un rato en la plaza Bolívar sentadas, descansando el trayecto caminado mientras hablábamos por llamada con un amigo y planeábamos el siguiente punto. Lo bueno es que en este día no llovió, pero tampoco hizo sol, por lo que estaba bastante perfecto el día, por lo menos en mi caso.

Now, we were a bit hungry, so we went back to the idea of our last outing and headed to a small stand in the city center where they usually have fast food promotions. On this occasion, we were quite surprised that, among all of them, they had one that was two hamburgers for $, and, obviously, we wanted to check this out, since those types of promotions are rarely seen here anymore.

Ahora bien, ya teníamos algo de hambre, por lo que retomamos la idea de la última salida y nos dirigimos a un pequeño puesto en el centro de la ciudad donde suelen tener promociones en comida rápida y en esta ocasión nos estaba llamando bastante la atención que, entre todas estas, tenían una que era dos hamburguesas por $, y, obviamente, queríamos comprobar esto, pues ya no es casi visto acá ese tipo de promos.

The girls serving were very friendly, and after ordering the combo, we waited for about 10 minutes while we looked at the other promotions and a little cat that was nearby. After that, they gave us the combo, which came with a glass of soda, although we had already brought some energy drinks that we've been very addicted to lately.

Las chicas que estaban atendiendo fueron muy amables y luego de pedir el combo, estuvimos esperando alrededor de 10 minutos mientras veíamos las demás promociones y una pequeña gatita que estaba cerca, y luego de eso nos dieron el combo, el cual venía con un vaso de refresco, aunque previamente ya llevábamos unas bebidas energéticas de las que hemos estado muy viciadas tomando últimamente.

They were two simple, not-so-big burgers; they were actually good, and I liked that the fries were smothered in tomato sauce, which I usually like a lot. For the price, they're fine, of course; for a quick bite, they're more than fine. On this occasion, it was a combo for both of us, but ideally, we'd get one for each of us. They were good, though. We gave them a 6 out of 6, and, of course, I gave the onions in mine to my sister, since I don't like them.

En sí eran dos hamburguesas sencillas y no tan grandes; estaban buenas, la verdad, y me gustó que tuvieran las papitas bañadas con salsa de tomate, lo cual me suele gustar mucho. Para el precio están bien, claro, para comer algo rápido está más que bien, aunque en esta ocasión era un combo para ambas, pero lo ideal sería uno para cada una, pero estuvieron bien; le dimos un 6 de puntuación y, claro, en mi caso le di la cebolla que tenía la mía a mi hermana, puesto que no me gusta.

And well, to wrap things up, we walked around a bit more, checking out the prices of some things, laughing about many things with our characteristic humor, and then headed home, as it was getting a bit late. So, that's how we ended the day and what was this little outing, with the theme of not being so stuck at home and getting some movement. Y bueno, finalizando, allí estuvimos caminando un poco más, viendo el precio de algunas cosas, riéndonos de muchas cosas con nuestro humor característico, para posteriormente irnos caminando a casa, pues ya era algo tarde. Por lo que así culminamos el día y lo que fue esta pequeña salida con el tema de que estamos tratando de no estar tan metidas en casa y poder mover un poco el cuerpo, esperando sea de su agrado y así mismo muchas gracias por leer.
