The place I show you today, without a doubt, smells very good. On Mercaderes Street, between Obrapía and Lamparilla, is located the perfumery Habana 1791, which is an ideal place for lovers of unique aromas. Y es que en la calle Mercaderes, entre Obrapía y Lamparilla, se ubica la perfumería Habana 1791, que constituye un inmueble ideal para los amantes de los aromas únicos. This building was not always a perfumery, many years ago it also functioned as a store, cafeteria, pharmacy, hardware store; until it began its restoration process by the Office of the Historian of the city, which allowed it to open its doors in the year 2000 with the social purpose it has today. The year that is part of the name of this site is not related to a specific date, but seeks to remind the visitor of a stage: the time of our grandparents where essences were made with special care.
Habana 1791 is also a museum, since it preserves and exhibits antique bottles that were used to practice the art of perfumery.

Este inmueble no siempre fue una perfumería, muchos años atrás también funcionó como almacén, cafetería, farmacia, ferretería; hasta que comenzó su proceso de restauración por la Oficina del Historiador de la ciudad, que permiteque en el año 2000 abra sus puertas con el objeto social con que posee actualmente. El año que forma parte del nombre de este sitio, no está relacionado con una fecha específica, sino que busca que el visitante recuerde una etapa: la época de nuestros abuelos donde las esencias se elaboraban con especial esmero.
Habana 1791 también constituye un museo, pues conserva y exhibe frascos antiguos que eran usados para ejercer el arte de la perfumería.

In this site, the perfumes are elaborated based on the extraction of oils and the handmade distillation of aromatic plants. The girls who work there are characterized by extreme professionalism, so they offer the necessary guidance if you do not have a clear notion of what essences to mix to achieve your ideal perfume. One of them even told me that, although she was not in the store at the time, there is the only Cuban perfumer we currently have.
I have noticed that on an unconscious level, I often associate people with their scent, so I consider this aspect of personal care to be very valuable. Therefore, I am happy to tell you that this perfumery also offers aromatherapy services, which is the practice of using essential oils for therapeutic purposes to improve general well-being.

En este sitio, los perfumes son elaborados a base de la extracción de aceites y la destilación artesanal de las plantas aromáticas. Las chicas que trabajan allí se caracterizan por una profesionalidad extrema, así que ofrecen la orientación necesaria si no tienes una noción clara de qué esencias mezclar para lograr tu perfume ideal. Incluso, una de ellas me comentó que, aunque no estaba en ese momento en el local, allí radica la única perfumista cubana que tenemos actualmente.
He notado que a nivel inconsciente, muchas veces asocio a las personas con su aroma, así que este aspecto del cuidado personal considero que resulta muy valioso. Por ello, me alegra contarles que en esta perfumería también se brindan servicios de aromaterapia, que es la práctica que utiliza los aceites esenciales con fines terapéuticos para mejorar el bienestar general.

The design of this place is charming. It has an interior patio decorated with the greenery of its vegetation. At the end, there is a fountain, which on its side has a small room that reminds me of the hall of an old colonial house, as it has a piano.

El diseño de este lugar es encantador. Tiene un patio interior decorado con el verdor de su vegetación. Al final, se ubica una fuente, que en su lateral posee un pequeño salón que me recuerda el recibidor de una antigua casa colonial, pues posee un piano.
