The Dakshineshwar Skywalk

I want to share with you some photographs taken from Dakshineshwar Skywalk and some information about it. A few days ago, I took these photographs when I went there to worship the temple in Dakshineshwar one morning.

The Sky Walk has been developed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority to improve traffic and movement towards Kali Mandir in Dakshineswar.

It is 400 meters long and 10.5 meters wide. After approaching the temple of Dakshineshwar, this skywalk helps to avoid the traffic snarl and enter the temple. It creates a connection between the entrances of the temple premises thus ensuring a lot of safety to the numerous devotees from the extra risk of vehicles on the road.

It has been built to ensure ease of movement, comfort and safety for the thousands of devotees who visit this Kalimandir every day. There are many shops on this skywalk where many things are available including many items for worshiping the temple which has ensured the livelihood of the shopkeepers as well as facilitated the shopping of various items for the devotees coming here...
