A few photographs of Chinese fan palm trees

In today's blog I will share with you some photographs of Chinese fan palm trees. A few days ago, at the end of a rainy season, I went to Eco Park for a little walk. Ecopark is a very famous place in Kolkata. Every day thousands of visitors gather in this park. This park is very beautifully decorated and there are thousands of types of trees in this park.

This particular type of Chinese fan palm tree caught my eye when I went for a walk.

The monsoon water got on this tree. I went near the tree and observed it very well because I had seen this tree before from a distance but not up close.

Anyway, I went near the tree and took some photographs that day and now I am sharing them with you. This tree is also known as fountain palm.

The reason this plant is known as Chinese fan is because its fronds are often used to make fans. This tree grows quite slowly. Chinese fan palm trees can reach 30 to 50 feet in height and 10 to 12 feet in spread.

This plant grows beautifully in full sun to partial shade. Lightly moist but wet soil is considered most ideal for Chinese fan palms.
