My wife had only been to my village once before, and that was when we got engaged, so she didn't have a chance to explore the village. After the wedding and honeymoon, we returned to the village. We came back both to see them one last time before moving to the new city and to collect our belongings that were left in the village.

Before talking about the time we spent together in the village, I want to mention the gözleme we ate on our way back from Antalya. Potato gözleme is my favorite, but this one tasted different. I don't know, maybe it tasted so good because I was very hungry at the time and because I was relieved to have escaped the heat of Antalya.

One of the things I love about my village is the lack of air pollution. The stars and the moon are clearly visible in the sky. This is a photo I took on our first evening in the village. Even though it wasn't completely dark yet, the moon was very bright.

On the second day, my wife and I started walking around the village at night. Just like in Antalya, kittens found us in the village. Since we both love cats, this wasn't surprising, but I never saw these cats when I was walking alone. Maybe it's my wife's luck.

We went on a picnic together. Our return coincided with sunset, and even though we were in a moving vehicle, I managed to take this photo. It's not very clear, but I think it looks nice.

I hope this photo doesn't make you hungry. We cooked corn at the picnic. Many people around me like boiled corn, but for me, there's nothing like corn cooked over coals. I love that charcoal taste, that smell. It's like it's been smoked.

Don't the kittens in the photos above look just like this one? I think this is their mother. She was acting very aggressively to protect the little ones around her. I just wanted to get closer and take a photo, but she was on high alert the whole time.

Another kitten. People in the village don't like feeding cats in their homes, but that doesn't mean they don't like them. They feed them in the areas in front of their houses because they know how harmless and sweet creatures cats are. They just don't want them to dirty the house, and maybe that's why they don't let them in. An elderly neighbor once told me that cats used to come and go in their homes, and sometimes they even fed them inside. I don't know what changed over time that led cats to stop being fed in homes and to become unwanted in the village. Something must have happened during this process; people's perceptions don't change on their own.

Cats aren't the only animals you'll see on the streets in the village. My wife lives in the city, so she was surprised when goats suddenly appeared in front of her, but for us, it's perfectly natural. When I was a child, many more people kept goats; I remember my grandparents keeping them. My uncle and I even used to take the goats out to graze. I was around 9 or 10 years old. What days those were! Anyway, we waited a bit for the goats to pass, and as her husband and protector, I stood in front of my wife and prevented the goats from approaching her 😂

Eşim benim köyüme daha önce sadece bir kere geldi ve o da nişanlandığımız dönemdi dolayısıyla köyü gezme fırsatı olmadı. Düğünden ve balayından sonra köye geri geldik. Hem yeni şehre taşınmadan önce son defa onlarla görüşmek için hem de köyde kalan eşyalarımızı almak için döndük.

Köyde birlikte geçirdiğimiz zamandan bahsetmeden önce Antalya'dan dönerken yediğimiz gözlemeden bahsetmek istiyorum. Patatesli gözleme benim favorimdir ama bu yediklerim arasında başka bir lezzetteydi. Bilemiyorum belki de bu kadar lezzetli olmasının sebebi o an çok aç olmamdır ve Antalya'nın sıcağından kurtulmuş olmanın verdiği rahatlamayla onu yemiş olmamdır.

Köyümün sevdiğim yanlarından biri hava kirliliği olmaması. Gökyüzündeki yıldızlar ve ay net bir şekilde görünüyor. Bu köyde geçirdiğimiz ilk akşam çektiğim bir fotoğraf. Hava tamamen kararmamasına rağmen ay çok parlak görünüyordu.

İkinci gün eşimle gece köyde yürüyüş yapmaya başladık. Antalya'daki gibi köyde de kedi yavruları bizi buldu. İkimiz de kedileri çok sevdiğimiz için bu şaşırtıcı değildi ama yalnız yürürken bu kedileri hiç görmüyordum. Belki de eşimin şansıdır.

Birlikte pikniğe gittik. Dönüşümüz günbatımına denk geldi ve hareket eden bir araçta olmamıza rağmen bu fotoğrafı çekmeyi başardım. Çok net değil ama güzel göründüğünü düşünüyorum.

Umarım bu fotoğraf sizi acıktırmaz. Piknikte mısır pişirdik. Çevremdeki pek çok kişi mısırı haşlanmış seviyor ama benim için közde pişen mısır gibisi yok. O kömür tadını, o kokuyu seviyorum. Tütsülenmiş gibi geliyor.

Yukarıdaki fotoğraflardaki kedi yavruları buna ne kadar benziyor değil mi? Bu onların annesi sanırım. Çünkü etraftaki minik yavruları korumak için çok agresif davranıyordu. Sadece yaklaşıp bir fotoğraf çekmek istedim ama her an tetikteydi.

Bir başka kedi yavrusu. Köyde insanlar kedileri evlerinde beslemeyi sevmiyor ama bu onları sevmedikleri anlamına gelmiyor. Onları evlerinin önündeki alanlarda besliyorlar çünkü kedilerin ne kadar zararsız ve tatlı canlılar olduğunu biliyorlar. Sadece evi pisletmelerini istemiyorlar ve belki de bu yüzden eve almıyorlar. Yaşlı bir komşum eskiden kedilerin evlerine girip çıktığını ve bazen ona evde yemek verdiklerini söylemişti. Zaman içinde ne değişti de kediler köyde evlerde beslenmemeye ve istenmemeye başladı, bilmiyorum. Bu süreçte bir şeyler olmuş olmalı, insanların algıları kendiliğinden değişmez.

Köyde sokaklarda göreceğiniz tek hayvan kediler değil. Eşim şehirde yaşadığı için birden karşısına keçiler çıktığında şaşırdı XD Ama bu bizim için gayet doğal. Ben çocukken çok daha fazla insan keçi besliyordu, anneannemlerin beslediğini hatırlıyorum. Hatta dayımla birlikte keçileri otlamaya götürürdük. 9-10 yaşlarındaydım. Ne günlerdi ama! Her neyse, keçilerin geçmesi için biraz bekledik ve ben de kocası ve koruyucusu olarak eşimin önünde durdum ve keçilerin ona yaklaşmasının önüne geçtim 😂
