If you're walking down the street in Antalya, you might suddenly come across a historical monument or tomb, so be prepared. If you're not a local, enjoy it because you may never see it again.

One afternoon, while heading to the market for shopping, I noticed a monument on the road. It looked like a ruin, but if it were just any old ruin, I'm sure the municipality wouldn't have allowed it to be in the middle of the road. If it were used to widen the road or if a park were built there for people to sit, it would be advantageous for the election campaign XD

I walked around it and managed to find an information sign. According to the plaque, this monument is a tomb from the 5th or 6th century AD, but it is unknown to whom the tomb belongs. If we speculate, it could belong to an important commander who was perhaps not so beloved by the king. Because if he had been a beloved and very great commander, there would be other commanders' tombs around it, or there would be a temple. Of course, this is just my opinion. Who knows? Perhaps it is the tomb of someone very important who did not want anyone else's tomb around it.

It is possible to enter the monument, but you cannot examine it closely. At least I can say that it is forbidden because if it were free, there would not be an iron railing like this. I don't know how long ago it came to this state, but it must have been a long time ago. Ivy is everywhere and creates a beautiful appearance. It is a peaceful sight.

The iPhone camera doesn't always provide an optimal image in the dark. I took a lot of photos, but some of them look blurry like this. I don't know why.

I really enjoy examining historical structures. Their textures are very different, and you can really see how architecturally successful they are. Isn't the fact that they've survived to this day a sign of that? If they had failed, they would have collapsed long ago. I wish more structures had survived to the present day. Perhaps if we could see a city intact in every way, we could learn much more about the events of the past.

We spent so much time there that it was already dark when my wife and I went to the market. I remember we were tired that day because we had gone to the beach during the day, so when the city started to come alive, we were watching something on Netflix at the hotel. You can't be out every night; sometimes you need to rest.

Bir akşamüstü alışveriş için markete giderken yolda bir anıt olduğunu fark ettim. Bir yıkık gibi görünüyordu ama bu herhangi bir yıkık olsaydı eminim belediye bunun yolun ortasında olmasına izin vermezdi. Yolu genişletmek için kullanılsa ya da oraya insanların oturacağı bir park yapılsa seçim kampanyası için avantajlı olurdu XD

Etrafında bir tur attım ve bir bilgi levhası bulmayı başardım. Levhada yazana göre bu anıt milattan sonra 5 ya da 6. yüzyıla ait bir mezar ama mezarın kime ait olduğu bilinmiyor. Şöyle bir fikir yürütürsek bunun önemli ama belki de kral tarafından o kadar sevilmeyen bir komutana ait olma ihtimali var. Çünkü eğer sevilen ve çok büyük bir komutan olsaydı etrafında başka komutanların mezarları da olurdu ya da bir tapınak olurdu. Tabi bu sadece benim fikrim, kim bilir? Belki de çok önemli birine ait bir mezardır ve etrafında kimsenin mezarının olmasını kendi istememiştir.

Anıtın içine girmek mümkün ama tamamını yakından inceleyemiyorsunuz. En azından bunun yasak olduğunu söyleyebilirim çünkü eğer serbest olsa bu şekilde demir bir korkuluk olmazdı. Bu hale gelmesinin üzerinden ne kadar zaman geçti bilmiyorum ama çok zaman olmuş olmalı. Sarmaşıklar her yerde ve güzel bir görünüm oluşturuyor. Huzur verici bir görüntü.

iPhone kamerası karanlıkta her zaman optimal bir görüntü sunmuyor. Çok fazla fotoğraf çekmiştim ama bazıları bu şekilde bulanık görünüyor. Neden olduğunu bilmiyorum.

Tarihi yapıları incelemeyi çok seviyorum. Dokuları çok farklı oluyor ve gerçekten mimari açıdan çok başarılı olduklarını görebiliyorsunuz. Bugüne kadar ayakta kalması bile buna dair bir işaret değil mi? Zaten başarısız olsalardı çoktan yıkılırdı. Günümüze daha fazla yapının kalmasını dilerdim. Belki her şeyiyle sapa sağlam bir şehir görebilsek geçmişte yaşanan şeyler hakkında çok daha fazla bilgi edinebilirdik.

Orada o kadar çok zaman geçirdik ki eşimle markete giderken hava kararmıştı. O gün yorgun olduğumuzu hatırlıyorum çünkü gündüz denize gitmiştik bu yüzden şehirde hareketliliğin başladığı saatlerde biz otelde Netflix'ten bir şeyler izliyorduk. Her akşam dışarıda olamazsınız bazen dinlenmek gerekir.
