So, I'm close to the final

Hi, guys!

Today is my final pre-surgery medical checkup, and tomorrow I'll finally be able to spend a day at home. The first part of the madhouse is over, and now all that's left is the surgery itself. The most interesting thing is that I'm not nervous at all, because I'm incredibly busy writing a new book, and I don't really care about anything else in life right now. I just need to finish the first draft; anything else is completely irrelevant to me right now. So I'm working with incredible intensity, at full force, and I plan to finish it as quickly as I can. Right now, I need to get at least the first 500,000-600,000 characters out of the way, so I'll have something to work with next.

I've finally settled on 350,000 characters, and I did that in less than three days. So I'm hoping, though it's a bit naive, that I'll be able to speed up the first draft before the surgery. This will essentially be the first rough text written in five days. I've never pushed a text out so quickly. But after it's all finished, I'll be able to immediately start basic editing. And I think that's the best thing that could happen. I really want to finish this text as soon as possible, get it to a finished beta version.

I want to have at least one finished manuscript in hand, something with which to begin negotiations with publishers. So we're working and trying. Of course, there's still a ton of preparatory work to do, but I'm very persistent. So I hope it will ultimately turn into a masterpiece. For now, I'm steadily building up the volume and thinking about how it should all look.

So far, so good. Of course, I don't like every plot twist yet, but I'll refine them further. The main thing is that the process is ongoing, and it's very active.
