Silent blog from war zone: stories from the pottery workshop
Hi, guys!
Today I have that special day of the week when I go to the pottery workshop. Clay work is my personal form of Zen and sculpting is very relaxing, but as much as I love sculpting, I also dislike the process of applying glaze to an already fired sculpture.
Today I did just that. I managed to sculpt a lot of things before going on vacation, and now for three weeks now, instead of sculpting, I have been trying to urgently cover everything with glaze and conduct a second firing, because I really want to return to sculpting again.
Today I took two ready-made masks out of three that I managed to do, the last one is still waiting for its turn in the oven. We did not deliver them very well, and one of the masks broke off a leaf. I think I can glue it so that it is not noticeable. I'll probably keep it for myself, not to give the client a sculpture with damage. Fortunately, I really like it :)
In addition, now I have two night-lights-houses in my work, after firing LEDs will be inserted into them, and their windows will glow. I also want to keep one of them for myself, but have not yet decided which one.
One of them is in Halloween style and colors, but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it in the process, so I'll show the final result later, but for now, here's what happened today:
Wow. Beautiful, colourful and funny. But I like that.
