Cuidar nuestras playas no cuesta tanto.

English Version

Recently, on my last trip with my mom to Gibara, before going to El Hoyito, we had decided to go to another beach, from afar, it looked beautiful. The blue sea, the rich breeze, the rocks... everything promised a nice afternoon.

But as we got closer, the panorama changed. There was garbage everywhere: cans, glass, plastics... even in the water. We were afraid to swim, but more than that, we felt sadness. This beautiful place has become a garbage dump, not by accident, but by our carelessness.

We were able to take a nice picture with the sea in the background, and that moment between mother and daughter was special. But in other images you can see what many prefer to ignore: a beach wounded by indifference.

Taking care of our beaches does not cost that much. It is as simple as not leaving trash, picking up after ourselves and respecting our surroundings. Nature gives us beauty every day... the least we can do is to take care of it.

Hopefully the next time we return, that sea will receive us clean and without fear. Because we still can.

It is unfortunate that sometimes it feels like nobody cares for a beach. I think it is everybody's duty to make sure that it is clean and as beautiful as it should be.

I hope you enjoyed your time there though

You are right, it is sad to see how something so beautiful is neglected. Still, I enjoyed the moment very much... the sea is always comforting. Thank you for your comment. 🤗
