My last weekend-Week 182

"If this were my last weekend, I would always choose to spend it with my best friends and family, because they are the people who have always been there in the good and bad times of our lives, providing us with support and comfort."

In the last few days, there have been several residency exams for various medical specialties. However, yesterday was the exam of my best friend's husband, the father of my godchildren. He became a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology, achieving the dream he fought for almost 5 years due to the delays related to the pandemic caused by COVID-19.

We all helped organize the event, prepare the venue, distribute the appetizers. One of the tasks they assigned me was to take pictures, given my well-known passion for photography. I have always been the family photographer, capturing all the important moments of their lives, which I feel as my own despite not sharing the same blood.

At the end of it, we headed to their house where the neighbors and other relatives were waiting for us to celebrate so many years of sacrifice, of studying until dawn, of saving lives in the hospital. Being Cubans, we couldn't help but celebrate it with roasted pork, beer, congris rice and a delicious mixed salad. Of course, we also enjoyed the typical cold salad, cake and fritters.

This is how I would spend my last weekend, creating unique memories and enjoying good food with the people I love. What about yours?

Like your idea of spending a last weekend with friends and family. However the line"creating memories" was bittersweet because of it was your last weekend those would be your last memories before you were gone.

Personally I would limit it to my closest family only. In my case my wife and children. Is want to create special memories for them before I was gone so they would know I loved them. They will pass me legacy to the next generation and they are the ones most dear.

Friends are great. Memories with friends and extended memories are great. But my wife makes life worth living and my children will carry my legacy to the next generation so they get top billing. I wouldn't want to be distracted to lose even a single moment with them to chat with friends.

Just my quick thought.

Thanks for writing

Thank you very much for writing 😊, at the beginning of the post it says with my friends and family, in that activity we participate both families, my best friend's and mine, it's already 14 years together as if we were of the same blood. How nice that you want to spend it with your family, I hope you live many years by their side, greetings 🤗.
