Mi rutina por las mañanas era casi sagrada: desayunar y caminar directo hasta las tumbonas, a esperar con ansias que abrieran la piscina.

Lo mejor es que no lo viví sola. Mi hermano —con su humor y su locura contagiosa— decidió acompañarme. No recuerdo la última vez que nos reímos tanto. Me arruinó más de un selfie (¡y varios reels también!), pero con él todo es más ligero, más divertido. Y como si fuera poco, podíamos darnos el gustico de pedir unas batidoras con cerveza Cristal bien fría, sentarnos junto a papi, y disfrutar ese momento simple y perfecto: agua, sol, y familia.

A veces no se necesita un plan enorme ni un viaje a otro país para sentirse feliz. Basta con una piscina, gente que amas y la decisión de estar presente.

Continuing my stay at Villa Sol Don Lino, I want to share one of those corners that stayed with me—on my skin and in my soul: the pool.

I’ve always been a pool lover. Ever since I was a child, there’s something about them that strongly calls to me. I don’t even need to see them—sometimes the smell of chlorine alone awakens that urgent need to jump in. And it’s not just about swimming, it’s about the memory. It’s my younger self running, laughing, feeling free and happy.

The Villa’s pool is brand new, inaugurated this year, and the moment I saw it, I knew it would be my favorite spot. It has a modern, appealing design, with that pool bar that whispers “come, relax,” and shaded lounge chairs that invite you to stay for hours. My morning routine was almost sacred: have breakfast and walk straight to the loungers, eagerly waiting for the pool to open.

The best part is I didn’t experience it alone. My brother, with his contagious humor and craziness, joined me. I don’t remember the last time we laughed so much. He ruined more than one selfie (and quite a few reels too), but everything felt lighter and more fun with him. And as if that weren’t enough, we also treated ourselves to some icy cold Cristal beer smoothies, sat down with Dad, and enjoyed that simple, perfect moment: water, sun, and family.

Sometimes you don’t need a big plan or a trip to another country to feel happy. All it takes is a pool, the people you love, and the decision to be fully present.
