Hace cinco meses, tomamos una decisión importante en familia: traerla a vivir con nosotros. Su salud no estaba en su mejor momento, y sabíamos que necesitaba compañía, cuidado y, sobre todo, mucho cariño. Desde entonces, su mejoría ha sido increíble. Poco a poco la hemos visto recuperar energía, sonreír más, caminar con más seguridad y hasta bromear con nosotros como antes. Tenerla cerca ha sido un regalo que no sabíamos cuánto necesitábamos.

Viví con ella hasta los cinco años. Fue mi segunda mamá, o quizás la primera en muchos aspectos. Siempre estuvo cerquita, literalmente a una cuadra de distancia, y su presencia ha sido una constante en mi vida. Es de esas abuelas que te abrigan hasta en agosto, que te llaman mil veces si sales tarde, que te llenan el plato como si te fueran a alimentar por una semana... pero que también saben escuchar, aconsejar, y amar con todo el corazón.

Hoy, más que celebrar sus años, celebramos su vida. Su historia. Su fuerza. Y todo el amor que sigue regalándonos cada día.

Today is not just any day. Today we celebrate the 75th birthday of a woman who has been a pillar, a refuge and unconditional love in my life: my grandmother.

Five months ago, we made an important decision as a family: to bring her to live with us. Her health was not at its best, and we knew she needed company, care and, above all, lots of love. Since then, her improvement has been incredible. Little by little we have seen her regain energy, smile more, walk more confidently and even joke with us like before. Having her around has been a gift we didn't know how much we needed.

I lived with her until I was five years old. She was my second mom, or maybe my first in many ways. She was always close by, literally a block away, and her presence has been a constant in my life. She is one of those grandmothers who keep you warm even in August, who calls you a thousand times if you are out late, who fills your plate as if they were going to feed you for a week... but who also knows how to listen, advise, and love with all her heart.

Today, more than celebrating her years, we celebrate her life. Their story. Her strength. And all the love she continues to give us every day.
