Ayer viví uno de esos días que se quedan guardados en el corazón. Fue el examen estatal de dos residentes de nuestro servicio de cirugía pediátrica, y con mucho orgullo puedo decir que ambos se hicieron especialistas con excelentes notas.

El ambiente estaba lleno de emoción. Se notaba en los rostros de sus padres, orgullosos y a la vez nerviosos; en sus amigos y parejas, ansiosos y felices; y sobre todo en nosotros, sus profesores, quienes tuvimos el privilegio de verlos crecer, no solo como médicos, sino como personas comprometidas y profesionales.

Me siento profundamente agradecida y orgullosa de haber sido parte de su formación, de haberles podido aportar un poco de lo que sé, de haberlos acompañado en este camino difícil pero tan gratificante.

Estos momentos me recuerdan por qué elegí esta profesión y me llenan de esperanza sobre el futuro de la medicina pediátrica. Verlos lograr sus metas es, sin duda, una de las mayores recompensas.

Les deseo todo lo mejor en esta nueva etapa que comienzan, porque sé que están listos para hacer grandes cosas. Y yo, aquí, seguiré apoyándolos y aprendiendo junto a ellos, como siempre.

Yesterday I experienced one of those days that stay in your heart. It was the state exam of two residents from our pediatric surgery service, and with great pride I can say that both became specialists with excellent grades.

The atmosphere was full of emotion. You could see it on the faces of their parents, proud yet nervous; on their friends and partners, anxious and happy; and above all, on us, their teachers, who had the privilege of watching them grow—not only as doctors but as committed and professional people.

I feel deeply grateful and proud to have been part of their training, to have been able to share a bit of what I know, and to have accompanied them on this difficult but very rewarding path.

These moments remind me why I chose this profession and fill me with hope for the future of pediatric medicine. Seeing them achieve their goals is, without a doubt, one of the greatest rewards.

I wish them all the best in this new stage they are starting, because I know they are ready to do great things. And I will be here, continuing to support them and learn alongside them, as always.
