Valentine's Day in Dolo (Venice)

Hello friends, Unfortunately my constant health problems do not give me the opportunity to share many posts with you, also because in these months I have not travelled much and I have not been out much, but I am recovering a bit and so even if we are now practically at the end of February I want to share some photos that I took during Valentine's Day, where I managed to treat myself to a dinner and a tour in a beautiful place located in the province of Venice and it is Dolo.

I must say that I have been here in Dolo several times, but I had never been here during Valentine's Day and I must say that they managed to recreate a very romantic atmosphere, especially in the evening. That's why I wanted to share these photos, but above all the beauty of this place is made up of this small group of houses that winds along this river.

So why not tell you about this town which has more than 15,000 inhabitants, and which is located right on the banks of the Brent and is a very picturesque place because once here there were several mills, which were used for grinding but which have now been transformed into places such as restaurants and bars, and so let's say it has been reborn under another guise than the more touristic one.

This is also the place where boats were built

Its origins date back to the 13th century. But it was thanks to the fact that it was located on an important river artery and that during the Republic of Venice this place developed a lot and therefore became a very important economic center even this place. For those who love art like me, it is represented in several paintings also by Canaletto but also by other Venetian painters so living now in this place is truly having lived almost history.
