Hello friends, today I want to tell you about a fantastic trip I took some time ago to the beautiful city of Bergamo. This year, together with Brescia, it will be one of the capitals of Italian culture and is definitely worth a visit.

Bergamo is a very important city in the Lombardy region, although of course it does not reach the fame of my Milan. With its 120,000 inhabitants, Bergamo is a true masterpiece of Italy and boasts many interesting attractions, such as the Parco dei Colli and Bergamo Alta, where I went.

I decided to explore the upper part of the city, which is distinguished by its walls dating back to the Venetian Republic and which became a UNESCO heritage site in 2017. The Old Square, with the Palace of Reason in the middle, is truly spectacular and offers many opportunities to discover the history of the city.

As for my trip to Bergamo, I must say that I had a great time. The city has a very welcoming atmosphere and the cobbled streets and narrow alleys make walking very pleasant. In addition, I found that there are many local trattorias and restaurants offering typical regional cuisine. I tried some delicious dishes such as risotto alla bergamasca and polenta e osei, which were a real treat for the palate.

In addition, I had the chance to visit some historical churches such as the Cathedral of San Alessandro, which dates back to the 15th century and has a very interesting façade, and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, which houses some very important works of art. Overall, the city is rich in history and culture, and I can't wait to go back and discover even more.

One of the things that impressed me most about Bergamo is its particular division into two parts: the lower town and Bergamo Alta. The upper part is easily accessible by motorbike or by a very comfortable funicular railway that takes you to the top in just 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to visit the lower part, but I know that it houses the famous Accademia Carrara, which contains many important paintings by international artists.

This year, as Bergamo is the Italian Capital of Culture 2023, there will certainly be many events and shows that will enhance its cultural heritage. In the meantime, you can enjoy the photos I took and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

During my trip to Bergamo, I also had the opportunity to meet Elon Musk's mother, who was presenting her book at a cultural event. She was very friendly and kind to me, and I had the chance to take a picture with her. It was a very special moment that I will never forget. Elon Musk's mother is a very talented author.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I wish you a good day. I hope you will follow me again and that we will meet in the next post!
