Lil Escapades Beyond Town [Fun Fridays]

Magandang Buhay :)

I hope the day is treating you so well or it sounds better to say, hope you are treating your day well. It felt like yesterday when we were out for some delightful adventures and now, the weekend is approaching again, whew!

We toured a few seedling greenhouses because we were trying to find a few hundred trays of Chinese Cabbages for the young couple who arrived last Monday and wanted to work on the farms. Their timing was perfect as we needed someone to take on the next cropping.

Anyway, we were recommended by the last greenhouse to check out the seedling facility close to the valley so we wasted no time and headed there. It was our first time in that area so while the Farmboy negotiated with the caretaker, the little guy and I explored the vicinity. It was 8:30 in the morning and the weather was gorgeous, bright, and sunny.

We even had fun photographing shadows but that will be a story for another day. These were a few views from there.

We left after the hubby secured his order and settled the price. He will pick them up on the 20th. One errand for the day has been crossed off, yay!

Next was the drive out of town to the new place and this landscape was photographed along the way. There is something about green mountains, hills, and fields. I love them!

We pulled over by the local restaurant just before noontime. "We could have packed our lunch from home and picnic somewhere," the hubby thought out loud. We should try that next time, I said in agreement. It would be a good experience.

While we waited for our food, the husband took a wee adventure and captured some interesting displays in the food place. Some mementos of public transportation many decades ago. It was fascinating to see how they looked back then. We presumed they may have been in the 1970s and 80s because of the bell-bottom or loose pants people in the pictures were wearing.

Below are miniatures of different rides - a city jeepney (topmost shelf), a taxi (left, second level shelf from the top, an old Dangwa bus (on the right), vans (third level shelf from the top), and another bus at the bottom.

Anyway, our order was the house's recommended dish. We were told we didn't have to wait long. We were starving so we attacked them right after they were served (and the hubby took a few snapshots).

I like the generous serving and how nicely cooked the beans were. Our Anyongi loved them!

We had a quick siesta and proceeded to the new property just before the rain poured. On arriving, we took measurements of stuff and planned on how to deal with the various things that needed to be fixed before we could move - repairs on the windows and doors, scraping the muddy driveway and cementing it, rerouting the drainage, etc.

The rain stopped around 3 pm and the hubby slipped into his rain boots to inspect the boundaries. Interestingly, he found some small waterfalls on his wee adventure. I felt jealous that I didn't get to see them myself.😅

There's a next time, of course!

We left the place around 4 pm and the rain poured once more as we traversed the narrow road.

I took these photographs of some fun stuff along the way. Murals, graffiti, and roadside beautification have become common in most places in the region. It's nice to see things reused instead of ending up in landfills.

We arrived home safe and sound around 7 in the evening, grateful and satisfied with how the day was spent.

Thank you for coming along on our fun escapade. Until the next drive...
