My Baby Bee || DIY Bee contest

Hello Members of DIY community, first time here😃😃

I was going through my feed and I saw a post about this month’s DIY challenge, I commented but deep down I knew it was going to be a tough nut to crack but when I got a notification reminding me not to forget to participate in the contest I just told myself “baby girl go for it” and yes I went for it!

IMG_6386.jpeg

@wongi was the one that motivated me to create my own bee, I call her the DIY Queen because her creativity knows no bounds so when I saw her bee and other community members' bees I laughed at myself because I knew I was gonna come up with not a bee but a hideous creature.

I started my journey by first assembling all the materials I needed to create my mind-blowing bee. I used simple materials that were available at home.

971a26de-d990-41a6-a870-1d5a1d517a20.jpeg

Materials

  • Yellow fabric
  • White fabric
  • A pair of scissors
  • Threads
  • Lighter
  • Cotton wools
  • Needle
  • Paper clip

The procedure

Step 1:
I started by sewing the yellow fabric together and I left an opening that served as a pathway through which I stuffed in some cotton wools.

After successfully closing the path through which I stuffed the cotton wool into my already sown fabric my bee started forming gradually hehehehehe🥰🥰

Step 2:
I used some threads to tie a small portion of the stuffed-up fabric, I made sure it was tight so that the bee's head could be formed, ouch! I almost strangled my bee but trust me I was gentle with it🥰🥰

Step 3:
The round face of my bee was already formed but then what’s a bee without eyes? Ever seen a blind bee before? I used the thread and needle to make a stitch on both sides of my bees face to create my bees eyes and I proceeded to make it’s mouth by making a longer stitch this time.

My bee started to take shape🥰🥰

Step 4:
In order to give my bee its segments, I had to tie some parts of the body with the black thread but this time I didn’t attempt to strangle it, I was really gentle trust me😃😃

Step 5:
To make the antenna of my bee I proceeded with using my paper clip to form one, I divided it into two equal parts and used my black thread to weave over it

IMG_6421.jpeg

I used a lighter to slightly burn the already thread-woven paper clip, which made it firm and shiny.

IMG_6415.jpeg

After doing that I pierced the antenna into my bee's head and I could hear my bee scream for help because it was freaking painful but I did apologize to my bee though😂😂

Step 6:
I carved out a pair of wings from the white fabric and granted it to my bee by sewing it to the body of my bee, yes my bee’s wings are fabulous🥰🥰

Tada! My bee was made!🥰🥰

After I finished my epic creation I was proud of myself for pulling this off and I later went out to take some proper shots of my bee.

I named my bee Hivebuzz because he will continue to have my back just like @hivebuzz does, always leaving a comment even when no one does🥰🥰

All images are mine and were taken with my mobile phone.

Thanks for stopping by
Loads of Love🥰🥰
XOXO

Shea I told you that you can do anything you want to as far as you put your mind to it. This is beautiful sweetie. I'm super super proud of you.
I don't see where you put that part of it that stings at the bottom but maybe it's because your own bee doesn't sting. Hehe
Absolutely !luv it.🌺❤️

Wow,this is undoubtedly awesome. Yeah, creativity might be talented but sometimes you build yourself in it. This is actually an evidence that you can do it 😀,why can't you just go for it and build capacity in it

Procedures are so detailed and concise. Thanks so much sharing this
