On the way to the jungle! Just kidding, visit to the Valencia Zoo 🐯🐷

On August 27th I went to Valencia, Carabobo State to visit a friend who we hadn't seen for over 5 months. That day was quite complicated and I just wanted to rest. The next day, August 28th, we decided to plan the trip to the Valencia Zoo; Valencia Zoo Aquarium is a place that can have everything from pigs to crocodiles (alligators) and it's totally crazy compared to what I know in my country.

The place is open from 9 am to 4 pm. The entrance fee is 50 Bs (Currently, August 3, 2024 in dollars it costs $1.36 at Banco Central de Venezuela), when we paid our entrance fees, they didn't check our bags or anything, they just let us in and I saw a lot of people carrying food and water in their bags. The first part of the zoo shows two paths; one that is for the reptile area and the other for the animals and the famous aquarium.

🌞 ¡Día de Aventura en el Zoológico de Valencia! 🦁

El 27 de agosto realicé un viaje a Valencia, Edo. Carabobo para visitar a una amiga que teníamos más de 5 meses sin vernos. Ese día fue bastante complicado y solo quería descansar. Al día siguiente, 28 de agosto, decidimos planear la salida para el Zoologico de Valencia; Zoo Aquarium de Valencia es un lugar que puede tener desde cochinos hasta cocodrilos (caimanes) y es totalmente una locura para lo que conozco en mi país.

El lugar abre de 9 am hasta 4 pm. La entrada cuesta 50 Bs (Actualmente, 3 de agosto del 2024 en dólares cuesta $1.36 a Banco Central de Venezuela), cuando pagamos nuestras entradas, no nos revisaron los bolsos ni nada, solo nos dejaron entrar y vi mucha gente que llevaba comida y agua en sus bolsos. La primera parte del zoológico muestra dos caminos; uno que es para la zona de los reptiles y la otra para los animales y el famoso acuario.

The first station to enjoy was the reptile area. It was a very extraordinary space in my opinion, I feel that there were different kinds of reptiles and a variety of explanations for them. There were a lot of people and it was also very cool even though the smell is not so pleasant. I think that everything was well decorated and that they had portable screens that explained to you with some videos what kind of reptile it was.

Upon entering, you find two paths. One was for reptiles (snakes) and there was another path that was for turtles and strange worms. We went into the first one that I mentioned, obviously the first installation is much nicer because the place was more complete. It had bathrooms and a decorative wall explaining the anatomy of snakes.

Read this in English La primera estación a disfrutar fue la zona de los reptiles. Fue un espacio muy extraordinario a mi parecer, siento que había diferentes clases de reptiles y una variedad de explicaciones ante ellas. Había mucha gente y también era muy fresco a pesar que el olor no es tan agradable. Considero que estaba todo bien decorado y que tenían como pantallas portátiles que te explicaban con algunos videos la clase de reptil que era.

Al entrar, te encuentras con dos caminos. Uno era para los reptiles (serpientes) y había otro camino que era para las tortugas y gusanos extraños. Nosotras entramos en la primera que comenté, obviamente es mucho más bonita la primera instalación porque estaba más completo el lugar. Tenía baños y una pared decorativa explicando la anatomía de las serpientes.

The names of the reptiles were easily identified through the signs that were above the windows. They also offered a code that redirected you to the information on the reptile so you could learn more about it. Super easy and I'm really impressed because they are updated as Venezuelan society advances, something I didn't expect from the Zoo.

After this trip, we went to the carnivore and herbivore area. At first, it was extremely hot and humid, which was already bothering me, but just seeing the animals made everything go away. We noticed that there were several food areas, some promotions, and my friend and I bought some drinks before starting the trip.

Read this in English La facilidad de poder identificar los nombres de los reptiles era a través de los carteles que se encontraban arriba de los cristales. También ofrecían un código que te redirigía a la información del reptil para que aprendieras más de ella. Super fácil y la verdad me impresiona porque se actualizan a medida que la sociedad venezolana va avanzando, cosa que no esperaba del Zoológico.

Luego de este trayecto, fuimos al área de los carnívoros y herbívoros. Primero, hacía un calor espantoso con una humedad que ya me estaba molestando, pero solo con ver a los animales, se me quitó todo mal. Observamos que había varias zonas de comida, algunas promociones y mi amiga y yo compramos unas bebidas antes de comenzar el trayecto.

Now, we enter the bird area, although nothing surprises me. However, it is enjoyable, but I think the space is always small and does not leave much to say. It has some signs where the names of the birds and their descriptions are explained. Very simple but colorful. I think the only thing it does is that the birds are respected and that the caretakers are loving towards the birds.

Read this in English Ahora, entramos a la zona de los pájaros, aunque nada sorprende a mi gusto. Sin embargo, es disfrutable, pero creo que el espacio siempre es pequeño y no deja mucho que decir. Tiene algunos carteles donde explican los nombres de las aves y sus descripciones. Muy sencillo pero colorido. Creo que lo único que cumple es que se les respeta a los pájaros y que los cuidadores son amorosos con las aves.

We entered an area that was a bit out of my expectations. We saw a giant, fat alligator in a remote place, but it was crossing a river and I imagined a scenario where a storm was coming and the cage fell down. The alligator escaped and could go down the river or into the mouth of the water. Chilling.

Read this in English Entramos a una zona un poco fuera de mis expectativas. Vimos un caimán gigante y gordo en un lugar apartado, pero atravesaba un río y me imaginé un escenario donde venía una tormenta y la jaula se caía. El caimán escapaba y podría irse por el río o desembocadura de agua. Escalofriante.

As the afternoon progressed, the walk became a bit tiring for my feet. We passed by several areas where there were monkeys, some other species of birds, we saw a puma, but I couldn't take photos of it. It was drizzling and therefore, I couldn't take good photos because any drop that falls on my screen goes crazy.

We went to an area that I didn't like very much either. I felt that the cages were smaller than the previous ones. It wasn't a big deal, but I witnessed several things that didn't make me happy.

Read this in English En el transcurso de la tarde, el paseo se volvió un poco cansado para mis pies. Pasamos por varias zonas donde se encontraban monos, algunos que otras especies de aves, vimos un puma, pero no pude tomarle fotos. Estaba lloviznando y por ende, no pude tomar bien las fotos debido a que cualquier gota que me cae a la pantalla, se vuelve loco.

Fuimos a una zona que tampoco me gustó mucho. Sentía que las jaulas estaban más pequeñas que las anteriores. Tampoco fue la gran cosa, pero presencié varias cosas que no me hicieron feliz.

My favorite area: The Aquarium

I loved the aquarium area! It was my favorite part of the entire Zoo, it had a different style than what we've been seeing and it was addictive because it looked like a dark fantasy story. I loved the experience of seeing the different fish, they were all unique and had many different characteristics than usual.

The only bad thing about the Aquarium area is that it was too hot. Otherwise, everything was excellent.

Mi zona favorita: El Acuario

¡Yo amé la zona del acuario! Fue mi parte favorita en todo el Zoológico, tenía un estilo diferente a lo que hemos estado viendo y fue adictivo porque se veía como un cuento de dark fantasy, me encantó la experiencia de ver a los diferentes peces, eran todos únicos y con muchas características distintas a lo común.

Lo único malo de la zona de Acuario es que hacía demasiada calor. De resto, todo excelente.

Finally, we visited the "contact" area, although it didn't have much contact. I prefer the Bio-contact in Merida, where you can grab the animals and touch them. The only interesting thing in this area was the ostrich, however, it was always locked up and I didn't see the magic in that area.

Despite everything, it was very cute. After this, we went home and were able to rest. We had been walking for 3 and a half hours, I was exhausted and just wanted to take a shower and sleep. I had a good time, I took many nice photos. It was great to spend half the afternoon at the Zoo.

Read this in English Por último, visitamos la zona de "contacto" aunque de contacto, no tenía mucho. Prefiero el Bio-contacto de Mérida que ahí si puedes agarrar a los animales y tocarlos. En esta zona lo único interesante fue la avestruz, sin embargo, siempre estuvo encerrada y no le veía la magia a esa zona.

A pesar de todo, fue muy tierno. Ya después de aquí, nos fuimos a nuestra casa y pudimos descansar. Llevamos caminando durante 3 horas y media, estaba agotada y solo quería bañarme y dormir. La pasé bien, me tomé muchas fotos lindas. Fue genial pasar la mitad de la tarde en el Zoológico.
