To Tao Chinese Cuisine for ALL-you-can-eat variety of food for Dad's 70th birthday ๐ŸŽ‰

This awesome dinner happened on 30th May but due to too many photos and yummy food, I could only post it now after I edited and arranged the folder.

๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น๐Ÿ”น

We were celebrating Dad, my father-in-law's 70th birthday. I am blessed to be married into the Wong Clan. I got to enjoy the blessings from my father-in-law as my Dad as well enjoy his spiritual teaching as the Apostle of the church. Double blessings for all of us.

Dad said he wished to have a dinner together in a round-table setting. Round means unending, signifies unending bond of love in family relationship. Hence, you notice during Chinese New Year, family members come together for dinner reunion at round table. Most Chinese restaurants have round tables instead of square. My husband managed to scout out a good offer at Tao Chinese Cuisine, so off we went there.

Blessed 70th Birthday, Dad!

My prayer for you is that you will stay healthy and fit and grow gracefully, be filled with the glory of God and His abundance blessings will fill your life till overflowing to your loved ones, us (hehehe). And that God will grant the desire of your heart. Thank you for loving us selflessly and loving your grandchildren with generosity. And always lavish them with love and prayers. We are blessed to have you in our life.

Tao Chinese Cuisine

Tao Chinese Cuisine is the epitome of dining in the heart of the city. Tao impresses connoisseurs with a refreshing blend of traditional recipes reinvented. Chef Kong is at the helm, bringing his creations to life using seasonal flavours to create a perfect blend of traditional techniques with modern presentation.~Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur

Tao Chinese Cuisine is located at Level 1 of a 5-star hotel called Intercontinental Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

Location:
InterContinental Kuala Lumpur
165 Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur

We reached slightly earlier than expected due to unexpectedly smooth traffic. And we took some time to look around this amazing place.

Right outside the Tao, there is a statue of some Chinese warrior. I do not study Chinese history so I cannot expound on that. But certainly I could take a selfie.

The boys wanted to selfie with the history figure too.

Besides Tao Chinese Cuisine is Tatsu Japanese Cuisine, eldest son was quite interested in it. Next time, boy, but you could take a photo here.

And then I remembered to take a family photo this time. My husband and I tend to forgot about family photos because we are not the selfie or wefie type of people. I learn to take photos more ever since I started blogging here.

Since Dad, Mum and brother-in-law's side of family had not arrived, we roamed to the lobby at Ground Floor. I always love to stroll around hotel lobby to capture each unique designs.

Overlooking outside of the ground floor is this beautiful pathway.

Then, the boys spotted many fishes at the man-made pond at the lobby.

Suddenly, we noticed two rocks on the rocks. Turned out there were two turtles there. Alive but freezed, did not move at all.

The hotel provides luxury huge sofa for the guests. Indeed, a very classy lobby.

The family had arrived.

Let's go up!

As usual, the boys were excited and always in front of me, although they claimed actually I was the one slow because I kept taking photos. Lol... True that.

Love this aisle to walk into the restaurant, making you felt like walking into a grand place, first class manner. The side tiles and beautiful decorated smooth rocks, hmmm...Nice feeling. We wanted this dinner to be grand for our Dad.

We were welcomed by this classy shelf with teapots and ancestors figures.

Once entered the main entrance, you could immediately felt even grander. Just look at the lightings, chandelier-kind-of. The whole ambience was superb. Abit too dark to my liking but I guess that was the feel.

Overlooking the surrounding, it looked like this.

We chose the one right at the corner where all the flowers wall were.

Suddenly, I wished I wore flowery dress to suit the wall. So beautiful. Each seat had a nice comfy pillow of Chiense flowery design. Ahhh, I loved it.

Husband took a group photo of us.

From where I sat, I was the one in dark green shirt, behind me was a beautiful solid shelf with even more teapots.

My must-do when I entered a building or waking outside โ€” look up. Beautiful center lighting for our table.

Food we ordered

We took the 'Tao All You Can Eat' offer where we could choose from an array of delectable delicacies. It was not cheap, not our usual spending but it was a better deal than other Chinese restaurants serving 8-9 course meal of RM1000-RM2000 bill. And we really wanted to pamper our Dad. For this offer, per adult is RM108+ and per child is RM59+ and we got to eat all we could. Ala carte style. This restaurant opens daily, lunch time 11:30am - 2:30pm and dinner 6:30pm - 10:30pm.

Menu

We were given a piece of paper with so many choices of food. And we could order by writing the number at the box as in how many portion you wanted for that particular dish. Suddenly, I wished I had a lot of stomachs. Haha.

Okay, looked like we couldn't order all food because it was impossible for us to eat all. These were the dishes we ordered.

While waiting for the food to arrive, Dad told us some ancient stories. The eldest son really listened attentively. How adorable. The youngest one was trying his best to be interested in history. Haha.

While I took photo of what was in front of me. Lol.

Food has arrived.

Steamed series

Steamed selection came out first. All three below were thumbs-up. We were so hungry, they finished in no time. Haha

Siew mai abalone

Money-bag prawn dumpling

Mushroom bun with roasted London duck meat inside, with black truffle paste on top.

Deep fried selection

Taro dumpling with foie gras paste

Crispy prawn tail dumplings

Soft shell crab avocado rice skin roll

Shanghai dumpling with Kimchi and chicken. This was epic because my eldest son loved it that we reordered.

Wok fried radish cake with Tao special XO sauce.

Seafood

Wok fried prawns with jelly fish flower

Deep fried crispy grouper fillet with mango salsa

Stir fry grouper fillet with spring onion and ginger

Soup

We ordered two types of soup. Baby abalone with crab roe and Tao special hot and sour sea treasures broth. Each we ordered 6 and to our surprise, the bowl was big. So we found difficulty to finish the soup as they were really thick type.

Vegetables and beancurd

*Stir fry cordyseps with Szechuan peppercorn and capcisum.,

Deep fried homemade beancurd with salted egg

Braised beancurd with vegetables

Beef

This beef dish was the star of the day in everyone's opinion. So soft and tender. Nice for bite. Tasty and flavourful. It was stir fry with Tao special XO sauce.

By this time, we were all veryyyyy super full. Was wanting to cancel but the food was coming. Next up.

Noodle and rice

The noodle selection was super delicious too. I wished I could eat more. We did pack back some rice. Haha.

Braised E-fu noodle with chicken. We asked dad to scoop the noodle as high as possible to signify longevity.

Yong Chao fried rice

Then, there was a long gap in between before next food. We waited till full, almost like could not eat. Children started playing too.

Poultry

Roasted chicken with special sauce

Deep fried chicken fillet with salted egg

Finally....

Desserts

Sea coconut, snow fungus and longan with honey syrup and of course ice cream for the boys.

Chilled lemon grass jelly (the one with lemon)

We ate till full and overflowing. I had never felt so full before. We went downstairs for group photo as well as photo for Mum and Dad. Wish them happy and healthy always and also wish the best for all of us.

Yes, I was thinking of some of the food as I typed. Especially the beef wok-hei fried, the noodle and fried rice. And all the salted egg one. ๐Ÿคค
