Feeling Satisfied at Sweet Bowl Dessert House // Slurppp 🤤
Whenever we were out of idea where to eat, we would decide here. Or rather, I would decide this place. My dad who is quite high standard in his food tasting also highly recommended the desserts served here at this restaurant.
Sweet Bowl Dessert House
It is located in a mall called Wangsa Walk and below is its exact location.
G-16, Wangsa Walk Mall, Wangsa Avenue, 9, Jalan Wangsa Perdana 1, Bandar, Wangsa Maju, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan
To be honest, it is a rather small restaurant, owned by two sisters, who seemed to be in their 40s. So if you plan to come in a big group of 20 plus, everyone may need to sit scatteredly. It has a outer ambience which I will post the photo at the end of this blog because that was when my husband and I dined here at separate day, not with the kids.
Menu
Their choices of food and drinks are fairly simple too, something I like when I am tired to think to choose.
Food & Drinks we ordered
We usually came here for our own choice of favourite. A-must to order at their 'Hot Dessert' menu section is 'Bubur Cha-Cha', although I can honestly tell you, all their hot desserts choices are highly recommended.
1. Bubur Cha-Cha
Bubur Cha-Cha is a dessert which causes you to dance Cha-Cha after you had eaten. Yes, I am just kidding. Bubur Cha_Cha is a Malay dessert as well as famous dessert in many Asean countries, cooked using pearled sago, sweet potatoes, yams, fragrant coconut milk, pandan leaves, sugar and salt. Not every bubur cha-cha is nice but this one was extra delicious. Just the right ratio of everything used, making it a refreshing dessert yet to overly sweet till you gonna get diabetes-type. This one particularly was special as they added grass jelly too, which the boys super liked.
2. Ipoh Coffee and Soybean Cincau
Myself would always go for their Ipoh Coffee with milk. And the boys would share a glass of iced soybean milk with Cincau. Cincau means grass jelly..
3. Kimchi Soup Rice
When I was here, I ordered nothing else but Kimchi Soup Rice. My husband always made a remark, "Sure? This again?". "100% sure, my Darling." lol.
It was fairly simple meal and I could cook it at home too. But it just such a comfort food to me when it came to anything Kimchi. And especially when I was exhausted, I needed extra tasty food and that umami flavor in my palette.
The soup itself had slices of chicken, tofu, button mushrooms, seaweed and cabbage. It came with a plate of rice, topped with fried egg and a side dish of Kimchi. Very appetizing. And I always loved it and slurp all the soup till dry.
4. Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang
My husband choice usually was this. 'Nasi Lemak' which was fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk, with 'sambal' our chilli paste, roasted peanuts and anchovies, hard boiled egg and cucumber. Also a big piece of chicken cooked in 'rendang style', where the meat was slow cooked and braised in coconut milk with herbs and spices till all the flavour incorporated into the meat. Super yummy!
And we love their sambal came with cuttlefish fish too. Totally worth the price we paid.
5. Fish & Chips
Their Western selection of food was not bad too. Jayden always love fish and chips and when he saw it in the menu, he surely chose this. Not the best fish and chips in town but good enough for him.
Dorayaki
We were happy that they had a new section of Dorayaki sold that day because my youngest son Jansen couldn't eat much due to complications in his intestines and he would like food like this. Dorayaki, we called it Doraemon food. Haha.
I bought five pieces of 5 different flavours - chocolate, blueberry, strawberry, peanut and coconut-egg aka 'kaya' jam.
Jansen could eat one at the shop and the rest we packed home.
In separate day, when my husband and I got to out just by ourselves and I remembered I was super tired too, we chose Sweet Bowl again. This time we sat at the outer ambience so I included in this blog to show you guys.
Signage from the outer ambience facing the car park of the mall.
Sitting here had its pros and cons. Pros - it was windy and natural air. Cons - people tend to sneak in and sit at the corner to smoke or the smoke from car park could be blown to your side too.
That day, of course I ate Kimchi Soup Rice and my husband ordered dried pan mee, which was flat egg noodles with soy sauce, black fungus, mushrooms, minced chicken, vegetables and dried anchovies. As usual, we were alway satisfied with their food.
*So, this is the place we will come on and off, rather quite often when we were out of idea where to go because their food choices suit both young and old. And we will even come here just for the desserts or occasionally we will come for coffee and toast. Also, this mall is nearby our place and has its cinema and a grocery and supermarket section we love. Always satisfying at Sweet Bowl House.
Ohooo, this looks really good. And the place too, it has this look of a "home" touch. And the foods looks delicious too 🤤
