CCC's Street Art Contest #280| The Poet of Martyrdom [ENG-ESP]

Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. I am once again participating in the contest organized by @digi-me, CCC's Street Art Contest #280. Walking through the historic center of the city, I really enjoyed seeing how the so-called Mural City was filled with color. The facades of some colonial-style houses were the perfect canvas for beautiful street art. One of the works that caught my attention the most was the portrait of the poet of Martyrdom, Cruz Salmerón Acosta.

He is not alone; he is accompanied by the sea, a boat, fishermen, and a pelican. It could not be otherwise, as Cruz Salmerón Acosta was born very close to the sea, in Manicuare, Araya Peninsula, Sucre State, Venezuela, where fishing culture reigns supreme. This writer was very famous for his work “Blue.” Here is one of the excerpts, written on the mural that I am sharing with you.

Blue of that distant summit
towards which my thoughts fly
under the blue peace of the morning,
a color that reveals so many things to me!

This mural is very colorful and represents part of our state's culture. This photograph was taken in the Historic Center of the city of Cumaná, Sucre state, Venezuela.

Saludos estimados amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, estoy participando nuevamente en el concurso organizado por @digi-me, CCC's Street Art Contest #280. Pasando por el Centro Histórico de la ciudad disfruté mucho el paseo al ver como se colmaba de colores la llamada ciudad Mural. Las fachadas de algunas casas de estilo colonial fueron el lienzo perfecto para hermosos artes callejeros. Una de las obras que más llamó mi atención fue el retrato del poeta del Martirio, Cruz Salmerón Acosta.

No está solo, lo acompaña el mar, un bote, pescadores y un pelícano. No podía ser de otra manera, Cruz Salmerón Acosta nació muy cerca del mar, en Manicuare, Península de Araya, estado Sucre, Venezuela, donde impera la cultura pesquera. Este escritor fue muy famoso por su obra “Azul”. Aquí les dejo uno de los fragmentos, está escrito en el mural que le comparto.

Azul de aquella cumbre tan lejana
hacia la cual mi pensamiento vuela
bajo la paz azul de la mañana,
¡color que tantas cosas me revela!

Este mural es muy colorido y representa parte de la cultura de nuestro estado. Esta fotografía fue tomada en el Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela.
