Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. I am once again participating in the contest organized by @digi-me, CCC's Street Art Contest #277. A few days ago, while walking downtown, I noticed a beautiful mural depicting Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, nicknamed the "doctor of the poor." It's a truly gorgeous piece of art, bursting with color, and accompanied by several symbolic buildings considered important landmarks of my beloved city of Cumaná, such as the Santa Inés Church, the Cathedral, and the San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle. And, of course, the Venezuelan flag was also present.

The inscription on the painting states that it was donated by Lowuistyn Rivas, Julia Dibsiee, and Reny Carrillo. Below it is the name of Memín, an artist who has signed several works in Cumaná. José Gregorio Hernández was a Venezuelan doctor born in Isnotú, Trujillo state, who died in Caracas after suffering a skull fracture when he was hit by a vehicle while on his way to see a patient.

In addition to being a doctor, he was a professor, philanthropist, scientist, and devout Catholic, to whom numerous miracles were attributed. He was beatified on April 30, 2021, and recently, on October 19, 2025, his canonization took place. This mural is located on Arístides Rojas Avenue, Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela.

Saludos estimados amigos, bienvenidos a mi blog, estoy participando nuevamente en el concurso organizado por @digi-me, CCC's Street Art Contest #277. Hace días yendo al centro de la ciudad, me percaté de un hermoso mural donde fue pintado el doctor José Gregorio Hernández, apodado el médico de los pobres. Es un arte realmente precioso, repleto de colores, acompañado de varias edificaciones simbólicas y consideradas importantes patrimonios de mi querida ciudad de Cumaná, como la iglesia Santa Inés, la Iglesia Catedral y el Castillo San Antonio de la Eminencia. No podía faltar la bandera de Venezuela.

Sobre la pintura está escrito que fue donado por Lowuistyn Rivas, Julia Dibsiee y Reny Carrillo, abajo, el nombre de Memín, un artista que ha autografiado varias obras en Cumaná. José Gregorio Hernández fue un médico venezolano que nació en Isnotú, estado Trujillo y falleció en Caracas tras sufrir una fractura de cráneo luego de ser atropellado por un vehículo cuando se dirigía a ver una paciente.

Además de médico, fue profesor, filántropo, científico y devoto católico, a quien se le atribuyeron numerosos milagros. Fue beatificado el 30 de abril de 2021, y recientemente, el pasado 19 de octubre de 2025, se llevó a cabo su canonización. Este mural está ubicado en la Avenida Arístides Rojas, Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela.
