Lost
They must be here, somewhere.
My notes. My handouts. My books. I did the research. I did more than was asked. But I lost track of time. I lost my train of thoughts. I was overwhelmed. I buried myself. I lost myself.
I have to finish that essay. I am just late, but I know I can still finish it. I just need to find the tracks. Get back on. I know it's harder now. People don't understand my sense of urgency, my frustrations, my vision.
I know that essay may fall on deaf ears. It was such a simple argument, a simple premise. It contained the solution to humanity's problems. It was gold! How can you lose gold? You may ask. It's easier than you think.
You might as well ask, how can you lose yourself? Right? How absurd! To lose oneself!
You're right there silly!
Where?
Here, somewhere... I know I'm here, somewhere ...
