Some events happen against all odds. Some goals are achieved despite unsurmountable obstacles. Some people survive freak accidents inexplicably. How come some machines work under arduous conditions way beyond their useful life, is anyone’s guess.

How come humanity has not yet driven itself to extinction? Our planet is a living proof that what we call miracles happen all the time, for what is a miracle but “an object of wonder”? Our inability to know everything at all times makes us susceptible to miracles. We’ll find wonder in every new unexplainable thing, sometimes even after the mystery has been revealed or its novelty worn out.

That might explain why there is still love, beauty, and hope. Some countries have had it tougher in recent years. Hardship flies like a seasonal bird and gives every corner of the world a taste. Sometimes, it settles until it is evicted by one of those miraculous occurrences that allow individuals to put aside differences and join forces for a common cause.

Some countries somehow manage to survive the harshest treatments to become an object of wonder. They keep the hope machine working even when logic says otherwise. They keep the spark of goodness and solidarity beyond the cowardice of individualism. It is the interconnectedness of the machine parts that allow movement forward or backwards, depending on who drives or where they want to go.

I’ve seen this tractor working against all odds. I’m looking forward to a 2023 miracle.
