We visited Sigiriya Lion Rock.
Hello dear hive friends.
Hive friends, Sigiriya is known as "Lion Rock" and it is a prominent place in Sri Lanka that is one of the 7 Wonders of the World. It is a very amazing design. This place is located near Dambulla city in Matale district of Sri Lanka. This is the ancient civilization in the history of Sri Lanka. A great stone marvel of genius and artistry. Our trip to Sigiriya was a great experience. The beauty of the surrounding forest and the view of the massive rock formations, along with the amazing irrigation works is a spiritual journey. The rock is almost 200 meters (660 ft) high, and the path to the top of the mountain leads up stone steps, iron steps and narrow sides.
A group of 15 people came with us for this trip. To reach this place, one has to walk through a forest area about 1 km from the main road. Both nationals and foreigners have to get a ticket to enter from there. It is special that have mastered the art of architecture from the point of view of the road we travel.
As we ascended, we passed the famous Wall of Mirrors, which once shone with such a polished surface that the King could see his reflection as he passed. Today, the wall is covered in ancient graffiti, some of which are more than a thousand years old, left by visitors who were equally fascinated by Sigiriya's beauty. Also, when you walk on the steps of the big rock, you can see the beauty of the surrounding environment. And I felt scared.
The final climb to the summit takes us through the Lion Gate, the remains of a massive stone lion once guarding the entrance. Although only the lion's feet remain, they hint at the greatness that once existed there. From the top of Sigiriya, it is not a charming sight. Beneath us lay the ruins of an ancient palace complex complete with water gardens, reservoirs and other architectural marvels. Beyond the ruins, the lush landscape stretches as far as the eye can see, and no one has yet figured out how its magnificent irrigation system carried the rock to the top. Creates a calm and stunning panorama.
The most striking sight in this Sigiri Rock is the ancient frescoes. There are frescoes of maidens known as Sigiri Apsaras. The artistry and vibrant colors of these murals are stunning, giving a glimpse of the sophistication and aesthetic sensibilities of the ancient civilization that created them. No one is allowed to take pictures of it. These are well-preserved paintings.
We can say that the time we spent in Sigiriya was filled with joy and wonder. I vividly remember the laughs we shared as we made our way through the steep steps, encouraging each other to keep going despite the challenging rock climb. As we approach the top of the rock, the landscape and natural beauty add a sense of lightness to the mind. Our tour of Sigiriya is not just about visiting a historical place, it is about experiencing the magic of a place that has captivated the hearts of countless visitors for centuries. Good day everyone.
