A Special Vow and a Peaceful Day at Galle Katchu Wattatta Temple.
Good evening to all my dear Hive friends!
This past Saturday marked a beautiful milestone — my baby turned three months old. As parents, each passing month of a newborn's life feels like a celebration, and this moment held even deeper meaning for us.
We fulfilled a heartfelt promise we made long before his birth — to dedicate our son to the divine. With devotion and gratitude, we chose the serene and spiritually significant Kachchuwatta Temple in Galle to offer our blessings and give thanks.
The temple, nestled in a peaceful environment, provided the perfect place for reflection and prayer.
We arrived at this sacred site early in the morning. Carrying our little one gently in our arms, we humbly stepped into the temple grounds.
The sound of the temple bell and the fragrance of burning incense created a sense of inner peace — a blessing in itself.
As a symbol of light and hope for our son's future, we reverently offered flowers and lit oil lamps before the Buddha statue.
With utmost care and devotion, we completed the rituals, quietly whispering our heartfelt prayers for his strength, health, and protection.
It was a deeply emotional moment for us—one that words can only begin to describe.
Only the heart can truly comprehend the weight of such moments.
"Embracing Tranquility and Inner Peace at the Temple"
Appreciating the calm architectural beauty and the lush greenery surrounding the temple, I took a moment to walk around its sacred grounds. A few other devotees were quietly engaged in their own prayers, contributing to the peaceful energy that radiated from the shrine. Our own prayer, too, was completed with a deep sense of serenity and fulfillment.
Sometimes, moments like these—stepping away from our usual routines—are necessary for us to reconnect with our inner selves. This day reminded me of the power of mindfulness, the beauty of fulfilling a promise, and the comforting peace that comes from spiritual grounding.
If you are ever in Galle and seeking a quiet place for reflection or devotion, the Kachchiwatta Temple is truly worth a visit.
Thank you reading
Have A nice day.
Best Regards,
Samadi Madushanki .
