Round 157 of our Drone Post of the Week Contest is completed!
For those of us counting, this marks 3 years our weekly contest has been running. Thanks to all of you for contributing and making it what it is.
On a side note, while we don't often get or allow sludge posts to our group, we have had a recent issue raised with one of our newer members. We are working to validate (or eradicate) this user and help educate the rules in our group and around hive in general. These posts were rejected from the contest participation this week.
Depending on the validation and responsiveness, this person may be muted permanently. It should be pretty obvious who this is by reviewing the group posts last week. If you would like to help vouch for this person, (or have other comments), please don't hesitate to post comments, or reach out via discord.
It's been at least a couple years since I had to update our rules, but look for that to happen in the next week. I still don't believe people have to be professional writers or write an essay for each post, but two or three pics and 20-30 words isn't going to cut it on a repeated basis. If it's one or two pics and low words, save it for a Snap post instead of the main group.
Historically, I've provided full power upvotes to every post in our group from my personal account and from the community account. This may no longer be the case for lower quality or lower effort posts. In the future, I will be more selective in my voting and reserving the 100% votes for the more special ones.
I really, really appreciate the longer posts and especially those from our regular authors. I won't have their work or my time diminished by those trying to turn our group into a spam factory.
The recent questionable posts have been responded to, education provided by myself and @biologistbrito and the "violator" is still being vetted to determine if this was newbie behavior or a spammer to be removed.
