Crossing The New Yahata River Bridge, Hiroshima, On A Lovely February Afternoon

I went for a long walk this afternoon and after spending some time in a park I crossed the Shinyahatagawa Bridge over the Yahata River and just had to stop in the middle of the bridge to enjoy the view.
The Yahatagawa is my favourite river in Hiroshima. It attracts a lot of wading birds and is shallow and clean enough for you to see shoals of fish darting hither and thither when the tide is in. When the sun and the tide are both out, you get this kind of beautiful mottled effect of water and mudflats.
Here, I am about half way to my destination, which was a cafe where I met a friend to go over his academic paper with him and pick up my fee for doing so.
It had got dark and chilly by the time we had done, so I hopped on the tram back to my neck of the woods. Walking home, I noticed the waxing crescent moon aptly rising in Pisces, the watery constellation of fish darting hither-and-thither like those of the Yahatagawa.
