Wednesday walk around Mandavi river Vengurla

Hello, greetings to all friends, travellers, and the community! I hope you are all doing well and taking some time for yourselves and your loved ones.
I am currently exploring three continents: the US, Europe, and Asia. Today, I want to share a bit about my home country and the coastal town Vengurla in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. The town of Vengurla is significant for us, as we often need to visit it for official tasks. Sometimes these tasks take longer than we expect; other times, they are completed in a matter of minutes. On this particular day, we had to handle some paperwork related to our car. We anticipated that the process would take around 4 hours, but to our surprise, it was finished in just 10 minutes, leaving us with the afternoon free.
Since it was afternoon and we had nothing planned at home, we decided to visit the mouth of the river where it empties into the harbor. Typically, during the off-season and in the afternoon, the harbor is quite empty, but we prefer it that way—it's a great opportunity to enjoy some peace and quiet.
About a year ago, I wrote a post about the mangrove river kayak tour, which was an incredible experience.

After finishing the office work, we drove to the harbor, around 3 kilometer distance from center.

This time, we took a detour to where the fishermen's families have developed a residential area on the banks of the river. After parking our car in an open space (not in a designated parking lot), we walked along the Mandavi River. It was the afternoon, around 2:30 PM, and the surroundings were very still and quiet. The January sun wasn't too strong, making the temperature pleasant, with a cool breeze coming off the water.

This area is fully used to keep fishermen's boats, fish storage, and a wholesale dealing office. The day we were there, the weather forecast was not comfortable, so most of the fishing boats were moored in the river. The tourist boats also had no work this time of day but that would pick up toward evening. I discovered it after talking with somebody around there.

We kept walking along the river. I wasn't expecting nice and clean around there, at one place saw that this damaged house was belong with government as part of some encouragement program for fishery, but now governmeny has no time to look after that building and restart some new program.
The sign board says about priorited mangrove area and the special fragrance of sweet apple flowers, but I don't think with the fishy smell in the air that the apple flowers would help much
After a while, we cross to the other side where the newly built bridge connects to the beach on the other side. From a distance, standing on the bridge, the area looks very beautiful.
At a long distance, the harbour and guest house are a bit of a natural silhouette effect.

We are looking at the construction of a jetty, which will be an extension of the old jetty. A long time ago, this area served as the main port for transportation and trading, acting as a center for exports and imports. However, cyclones and sea storms brought in sand, making the sea shallow over the years. Now, after many years, the government is considering a new route bertween Mumbai and Goa with plans to establish a boat stop here. This jetty will soon be open for public transport.
The viewpoint in the local Devnagari language says welcome Vengurla is yours, feel at home. We keep the harbor visit for next time and return to the main road heading to our small village. Thank you very much for walking with me. This post and photos belong to me; sharing on any other platform is not allowed without my permission, unless I say it's okay. After discussing with me.

The river looked very attractive because there were many boats parked there. Even the boats were brightly colored and colorful.
