Walk to the viewpoint and view of Vikerøya.

Hello, friends, travelers, and community! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying time with your loved ones. Last week, I wrote a post about Vikerøya, but it was only half the story.

Today, I’ll be discussing the remaining part that I found very interesting—the viewpoint and the experience of enjoying the summer solstice at noon on June 21. Here in the Scandinavian countries, summer solstice celebrations are quite popular, with festivities taking place around June 23. For me, enjoying nature is a big celebration.

After getting directions from our friend on how to follow the path, we were very happy to continue our adventure.

We chose the path alongside the property that leads to the viewpoint after crossing the check dam. The distant photo of a check dam.

Walking along the path beside the farm was a joyful experience. It was delightful to see the wildflowers, butterflies, and hear the songs of the birds. The green, lush farm was abundant with ears of corn. As the green leaves of the crops swayed in the breeze, they created the illusion of rolling green waves.

Standing on the check dam, we can see some cabins around. The water is very shallow on one side.

The other side of the check dam was very dry, with some underwater algae on the stones. It looks very beautiful

Finally, I reached the top of the hill, where there was a cabin. It was closed, and no one was around, but the owner must be a prosperous individual and a nature lover to have built such a special, isolated cabin in this serene setting.

Passing that cabin, we came beyond that tree where the big rocks made a natural sitting place as well as a viewpoint. All around some small islands, some have summer cabins, and some just belong to a nature reserve.

We sat on the rock and enjoyed the nature and its colors, feeling our body and mind with all elemental energy.

The birds were enjoying their freedom without any fear. It is breeding season, so lots of birds were in the water with their families.

On another island, somebody was preparing his cabin for the summer visitors, and we saw them carrying material by boat. Very hard-working people.

On the other side of the island, the part of town where the people's houses are.

For privacy purposes, people build their private swimming places like this; we can see those all around the coastal area, where people have their own cabins very close to the seashore.

After exploring this small, beautiful place, we finished the lunch that we had carried from home.
Little relaxing, meditation, and watching nature, it felt good. Time passed very quickly. We turned back to the way we came, the same path; there was no other path to return.

On the other side, we can see that nice manmade check dam surrounded by water, grass, and wild flowers.

Farmland and farmers' houses are on both sides of the main road.

Walking back, I stopped at the corner of the bridge and took some photos from the side and from the bridge.

It was fun to see small fish in the water and Young boys were enjoying the fishing.

It was an amazing walk around Vikerøya, and we really enjoyed it.
