The foggy Riga town from observation deck and yellow church.

On the third day of our trip to Riga, we wanted to explore the other side of Riga, where the big tower, the Science Academy of Riga, and the Central Market are. The distance from our hotel is walkable, but since the morning rain had started, we were thinking about whether to visit or not. But after a few hours, the rain slowed down, and a kind of fogginess was left in the air. We decided to walk in that direction, passing through underground passages.

Greetings, friends, travelers, and community. I hope you all are doing well and having a beautiful time with your loved ones.

After crossing the road, we came to the market. It is one of the oldest markets in Europe. Central Market was established in 1910, before World War I. The place was used for the needs of World War I, made in the shape of pavilions. German army used those as aircraft - Zeppelin - hangars. Now, there are several tunnels shaped like pavilions used for selling specific food setups.

The market has a variety of food and household items. We just bought some fruits and nuts. Took some photos and got out of the place.
Keep our walking direction towards the tower.

From a distance, it seems like no activities there.

The Latvian Academy of Sciences in Riga.
This architecture is a special example of Soviet-era architecture, characterized by its towering central spire and symmetrical design. This historic building is now home to the Panorama Riga observation tower, making it an important landmark in Riga.

It wasn't crowded like St. Peter's Church Tower.
To get on 17 floor, where the panoramic view/the observation deck is, we have to pay 8 euro /person by lift 15 floor and climb 2 floors.

But when we got to the observation deck, the view was just wow, even though the atmosphere was not clear. We enjoyed breathtaking foggy views that included the peaks of Riga's church towers and the third-tallest TV tower in Europe, which stands at 368.5 meters. From this point, a view of the National Library of Latvia, an iconic 21st-century masterpiece shaped like the Castle, symbolizing the Latvian nation's desire for knowledge. The library was built in 2014.
The view from the Panorama Riga observation deck also encompasses the scenic promenade along the Daugava River, featuring five bridges that connect both banks. Just a short distance away, you'll find Old Riga and the Central Market.
The Panorama Riga terrace offers unparalleled 360° panoramic views of the city. The design is made so that groups of tourists or friends can move comfortably easy to capture stunning photos of Riga's skyline from the observation deck, as there are no obstructions from a glass wall or any enclosures that interfere with the experience. Plus, the deck is a perfect spot to enjoy the most beautiful sunsets, but unfortunately, it was very cloudy and foggy.

From there, the colorful St. Mary's Cathedral was showing its beauty in that foggy weather.
Located behind the central market and train station near the Latvian Academy of Sciences, it features a distinct, vibrant yellow exterior with green domes and blue

An Orthodox church that is known as the yellow church is very popular among the locals. Services are held every day. When we were there, some service was going on. The services are frequented by believers of different confessions and tourists also. The church seems like a very special place for believers. I liked that all the interior. The silence, energy, and cleanliness inside and outside.
This is about our last Riga trip, some part of it was left to post.I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you.
