Benches around the Norway

Hello, friends, collectors, and community! Greetings! When I saw this month's initiative from admin @mipiano, I wasn't sure what to write about benches in my posts, and I didn't have any specific photos of them. I noticed many posts featuring beautifully designed and colorful benches, but as I looked through my archive, I realized I didn't have those types of images. Most of the benches I do have aren’t photographed alone, so I initially thought it wouldn't be a good idea to post them. However, I then considered that showcasing them in their surroundings might be a worthwhile idea. So here I am, a late commerce!

During our summer tour in Western Norway last year, we discovered many benches, starting with this at the Forsand school grounds, which features numerous play areas for children. This particular bench was located near the entrance to the grounds. It was beautifully carved with images of a troll, (A Norwegian legend) and an owl, along with the word "Venner," which means "Friends." The design is simple yet very appealing.

The same area of school, but with a different background: the Forsand kulturhuset (cultural activity center) Fossen. In wintertime when snow is around. It is a place for children as well adult also to sit, talk, and eat (roasted warm sausages) around a fire bowl. Very practical.

This bench was also located around that area. An old Viking place with very green trees and bushes. When I noticed it, I was surprised. It was almost hiding in one corner. Old but attractive and well-done carving must have been very beautiful when it was made.

During the travel we had a long walking tour around 10 kilometers that took around 6 hours. After halfway, we were looking for a place to sit and relax. We noticed this beautiful place made of natural stones, putting them together to create a beautiful bench in the center of nature. How beautiful the atmosphere is to relax for a while.

Normal outdoor dining bench at Ropeid, a small place in western Norway where we had an overnight stay in one farmer's house. Typical Norwegian style, vintage handmade, without any nails or screws. Old-style Norwegian craftsmanship.

Vassføring Sundalslågan, the Sandfossen, was built as a waterfall to help to the salmon start their migration upstream along the 22-kilometer-long river.

The Tyrvefjøra Rest Area in Ålvik, Norway, features a whimsical toilet installation made from tree trunks, topped with a large concrete slab as a roof. Upon approaching the toilet, you'll notice a charming frame structure formed between a tree and the hill. I also saw two beautifully set-up wooden logs, which create lovely natural benches. I apologize for the brightness of the image; you can get a better view by zooming in.

This seating place is at Ørteren in the Hardangervidda mountains, where we had recently travelled. After a long drive in the mountain range, this is a very suitable point. for relaxing with a view on this round bench.

After navigating the challenging, winding roads of the Jotunheimann mountain range, everyone wants to spend a few relaxing moments in this special forest reserve area. To accommodate visitors, the Lom municipality has placed numerous benches throughout the area. This quiet, sheltered rest area in the forest near Liasand was the first to be completed along the National Scenic Routes.

Before we finish, let's talk about the Hardangervidda area. One of its main attractions is the largest bridge, which draws both tourists and locals alike, allowing them to admire this impressive Norwegian architecture. Additionally, there are many benches located around the parking lot for visitors to enjoy the scenery.

The benches at the parking place for Vørringfossen, Norway's famous and highest waterfall. The benches are simple but surrounded by beautiful mountains.

The last one is a legendary sea creature in Seljord while traveling to western Norway, the first rest place. Many cars and camper vans stop there; they made nice benches around the sculpture of a legendary sea worm. Always crowded; luckily got this shot without any crowd. (This photo might be used somewhere in Hive.)Simple bench. But see, the view isn't a beautiful location for it.
So it is all about the Norwegian culture of benches around Norway.
