A short walk around Kerwada.
Hello, friends, travelers, and community! I hope you are all doing great.

Today, I am exploring what is locally known as Kerwada, located at the south end of Paradise Beach. I have visited this area many times over the years, but I’ve never walked this far, usually sticking to our closest Paradise Beach.
For some reason, today I felt compelled to venture upstream along the Tiroda Creek.
It was afternoon, and the weather was a bit windy and cloudy, with misty air and an unseasonal hint of humidity.

We started from the local temple, which is believed to be a protector of the area. The temple does not have any idols or photos; instead, it features a large symbolic rock and a banyan tree. Surrounding the temple are rice fields, which are primarily cultivated during the monsoon season. This year, the monsoon was lengthy, resulting in several small pools that attracted many birds happily playing in the water and searching for food.

A small genuine fishing village. Cool, nice to walk along the shady roads. Before, there were no four-wheeler roads. But nowadays all fisher families are involved in the fishing business, for many that requires having a four-wheeler transport vehicle, so road has been built, but it is very narrow, squeezed between houses where previously there was only a path. Some houses' roofs extend over the road. Small houses, big houses. Typical village life.

After walking through the village, we approached the bridge that connected the river (not exactly a river, it is known as Tiroda Creek) and the beach. Since it was low tide, there wasn't much water in the river, and the creek was passable, allowing someone to wade across and reach the other side of the open beach.
This area appeared wider and featured two temples: one dedicated to Shiva and the other to a local deity. locals use these temples as meeting places for social gatherings or ritual ceremonies.

We crossed the small bridge and approached the creek. The water level was low, but it was very clean, with nice white sand. Beyond that, there were beautiful coconut palms creating a unique landscape. I saw many birds. They are terns, but I’m not sure exactly which species. The different species are very simlar and the flock was at a distance, making them hard to identify.

When we arrived at the southern end of Paradise Beach, the atmosphere was humid and misty, with cloudy skies that made it difficult to take clear photos of Yashvant Gad/Fort south across the creek, and to the north toward the beach area near our house. We walked here many times along the beach to reach this spot, a short and pleasant walk along the sandy beach. Today, on purpose, we took a detour to explore the Kerwada area, and we had some other things to do.
After a while, we turned back

On the way, these are the boat houses made by coconut palms. The protection from heavy rain in the monsoon. They will be rebuilt before the monsoon.

We were back on the bridge over a side irrigation canal and followed to the jetty, where there were plenty of fishing boats.

All Indian style fishing boats, some are big, built for the deep sea where the big fish are and some small that stay closer to the shore, they must be satisfied with smaller fish.

Kerwada is famous for fishing, and most of the residents rely on fishing. Men catch fish and arrange wholesale auctions. making it a significant supplier of fish to Goan markets and local restaurants. the women go to the local market to the leftover catch. Early each morning, there is a fish auction that draws large crowds, creating a vibrant market atmosphere. We were there at noon time, so it was so quiet, only the boats and nature,

A few birds made us satisfied.

It was very quiet because of lunchtime. So I couldn't meet anybody to ask what this structure is. It was newly made using bamboo. That was the end of the street, so we returned from that point.
Thank you very much
