I still remember the day I first visited Debring. It was June 10, 2012. I set off from Pang, preparing my bicycle to reach Leh. Seeing the dark clouds in the morning, I had no idea what lay ahead. As soon as I reached More Plains, a storm began, bringing snowfall with it.

Controlling the bicycle in the storm was difficult, and protecting my eyes from the snowflakes that were entering my eyes was difficult, as I only had sunglasses, which made everything appear even darker in the cloudy weather. As I moved on from Pang, it never once occurred to me to turn back and resume my journey when the weather calmed down.

But with every walk, I kept thinking about moving forward. The next station was Debring, where I would meet people, and I wouldn't meet anything before that, and Debring is located a full 40 kilometers away. My fingers are going numb due to the drop in temperature. The altitude here is 4800 meters, so breathing is becoming more difficult.

Some dark thoughts are also running through my mind, the worst of which is what if I die of hypothermia? At this altitude, the bicycle's speedometer shows me traveling at 42 kmph. There was a time when a storm forced me to dismount.

Facing the challenges, I reached Debring, threw the bicycle outside, and took shelter directly in the tent.
