Monomad: Scaling mountains is always a magical experience (Bir, India)
In the last post you read how we reached Hanumangarh Peak. So in today's post also I am presenting some photos of the top and some of the descent from the peak towards Chhaina Pass. The height of the peak is 3080 meters and a 360 degree view is visible from the top. From here, we have to cover a distance of 6 km to descend which I think should take 2 hours.
From the top we see Thamsar Pass, Makaudi Pass, Jalsu Pass and Sari Pass, from here there is a steep descent for about a kilometer, carefully we reach Shepherd Tent where now everyone has gone down. After stopping for a while, we leave from here on our way. Although there is a short cut to descend from here, but we do not take this path because we also have to do a recce of the race route.
After about one and a half km we cross a temple named Satyavadini, it is a temple of a Hindu goddess who is considered to be an incarnation of Durga. We stop for a few moments to feel the sacred energy of this place and then return to our path. Passing through the deodar trees, we reach our destination which is known as Chhaina Pass.
This pass connects Kangra to Chota Bhangal Valley, there are some shops here where we sit with the intention of drinking hot tea and getting a lift from a vehicle, but when we do not get a lift even after waiting for 30 minutes, we start walking further. From here it takes us one and a half hours to reach Billing which was 6 km away. So this is how the journey ends.
This is my entry for #monomad challenge.
