Monomad : India where mountains are worshipped

Today I have brought a post to you after a long time. I am not getting a chance to write due to travel but since morning I had thought that I will definitely write a post. So friends, today I have brought some photos from the famous highway Manali-Leh in the country and abroad.

The Manali to Leh highway is located in the Trans Himalayan range and stretches from Himachal to Ladakh from where this landscape reaches other countries. Among all these mountains, Ghepan Peak is my favorite which is located in Lahaul Valley. The height of this mountain is about 5800 meters from sea level and this mountain is considered the king of Lahaul Valley. This peak is worshipped in the valley and several times a year religious rituals are held here in the name of this mountain.

Other mountain peaks are beyond Lahaul such as Naki La, Lachuchung La and Tanglang La. The height of all these is more than 5500 meters. If I talk about these peaks, some have not been summited yet due to their technical routes. It is the month of June but it is still quite cold on this highway situated at 4800 meters.

In the plains, the temperature has gone up to 49 degrees in the month of June whereas in the Trans Himalayan range the temperature is still 12 degrees and at night the same temperature falls to -1 or -2. Due to this fluctuation in temperature, the snow on these mountains has not melted yet and may not melt this season because in the coming time the heat will reduce due to monsoon.

This is my entry for #monomad challenge.

You liked this post very much. The description of the Manali-Leh highway and the mountains there, it feels as if we have become a part of that journey. The reverence and importance you told to Ghepan Peak is really touching the heart. At the same time, you also explained the temperature and the fluctuations of the weather in a very good way, which gives the readers a clear picture that how different is being experienced and walking at such a height. Your photos taken from Canon 77D will further enhance the beauty of this article.
