Buddha Purnima celebration (Vesak festival

Buddha Purnima came on Monday 12 May 2025 this year, followers of Buddha in all countries including India celebrated it with enthusiasm and joy. 10 days later I am sharing the photos clicked on the day of Buddha Purnima and the reason for this is my travel, otherwise I would have presented the pictures of this holy day in front of you on 12 May itself.

Buddha Purnima is celebrated every year on the full moon day in the month of Vaishakh, there are three main reasons to celebrate this day, first Gautam Buddha was born on this day, second Gautam attained enlightenment and third on this day Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana. In India, along with Buddhism, we Hindus also celebrate this day.

India is a country of diversity and all religions are given equal respect here. Talking about other languages, this day is also known as Vesak, Buddha Jayanti, Buddha Purnima or Hanmatsuri. So it was about to be evening and I was waiting for the moon to rise with my camera. After about 40 minutes my wait ends.

The moon rises from behind the Balabhadra mountain, piercing the chest of the earth and illuminating the whole earth with its silver light. I have a Buddha statue which I take to the terrace and click some nice pictures with the moon. Since it is night, I use flash so that the details of the statue come out in the photos.

The first photo which is the thumbnail has been edited in Photoshop, in this photo I have masked the other moon photos clicked by me so that the Buddha statue and the moon are clearly visible in the same frame. I hope you liked this post.
