And when the dream of visiting Triund Hill came true

The incident is not very old, maybe 2-3 years ago. I and my friend Birju decided to go to Triund Hill. We have come to Dharamshala for some work, so we have full opportunity to go to Triund Hill. Triund Hill is a tourist destination located in Dharamshala district of Himachal Pradesh state. Situated at 2721 meters, this amazing place is flourishing in the region of Dhauladhar mountain range.

Created in adobe photoshop, I have already posted this photo in my Hindi blog, Photo link

So after completing all our work, we reach Indrunag temple by car the next morning where we park the car and start walking towards our destination. As soon as we reach Indrunag temple, the sun has knocked on the horizon of the earth. We greet today's first golden rays and enter an unknown village, unknown because I don't know its name.

There are many ways to reach Triund Hill, instead of going through the traditional route which starts from Dharamkot, we are going through a less famous trail so that we do not find crowd of tourists on the way. There are yellow colored markings on the road, because of these markings no one can deviate from the right path. We are walking slowly because due to being tired due to work yesterday, we did not feel like coming for trekking this morning, but we are also stubborn and cannot let this opportunity slip away.

After walking about two kilometers, when we look back, we can see the buildings built in Dharamshala and McLeodganj. Our hotel is also below where we are staying since yesterday. My friend Birju has gone a little ahead and I am busy clicking his photo from behind. If the light is good then the photos from GoPro are also very good. There are stairs made of stones on the way, on which we are climbing, climbing, but still this climb is not ending.

On the way we see some tents, these tents belong to Shepards who will come up from below and will stay in these tents for the entire summer season. Behind the tent is the high hill range Dhauladhar which is sacred to the Kangra Valley. I have also once summited 'Indrahar Pass' located in this range alone, which is situated at 4750 meters.

Triund Hill trek is 4.5 km from Indrunag side and trekkers have to face an elevation gain of 973 meters in this distance. After some break and taking some photos, we both reached Triund Hill with great pleasure at around 03:30 hours. On reaching, only clouds are visible above Dhauladhar. We could have gone higher but didn't because there would be a crowd at the top, so we stayed here for about 40 minutes, sat and let ourselves get lost in the peace of this place.

The clouds did not move nor was the Dhauladhar mountain range visible. Of course we were disappointed to see the view from here but after all we can walk a little in front of nature. After a long wait, we both start walking back down. While walking on the same path, now we are seeing a slightly different view. Feeling short of breath while descending. We have played songs on the mobile and have created an amazing atmosphere. After about two hours we reach Indrunag where we had parked our car. Sitting in the car, we leave for the hotel from where we pick up our bags and head back to Delhi.

So this was the story of Triund Hill, I hope you liked this trek. That's all for today, see you in the next post where I will bring you a blog of another Himalayan place. Till then stay healthy and keep smiling.
