These photos were taken in June of this year. I volunteered at a road running event, and during that time, I had the opportunity to capture some amazing photos on this highway. This post includes photos taken at various locations along the Manali-Leh Highway.

First, let me tell you that this highway has an average elevation of 4,700 meters and is a trans-Himalayan region. It originates in Himachal Pradesh, stretches through Ladakh, and ends in Kashmir. If you've never visited this region, you should definitely visit once because it's a priceless and amazing place...it's like being on Mars.

The thumbnail photo is of the More Plains, where a lake was created a few years ago to provide drinking water for the Changpa tribe's animals. The second photo is of Debring, where a road leads to Tsokar Lake.

The third photo is from here, where sandstorms like this blow almost every minute. The sixth and seventh photos are from Sarchu, where you can see rain clouds over the red mountains.

The last two photos were taken after crossing the Tanglang La Pass; one is from Lato village and the other from Rumse. So, that's what today's post is about: a road trip covering 2200 km. I hope you enjoyed the photos.
