(ENG-TUR ) WINE TASTING TOUR IN THE ANCIENT CITY OF PHASELIS - PHASELİS ANTİK KENTİ'NDE ŞARAP TADIM TURU

Today, I'll share with you an experience I had last week. A friend and I wanted to experience something different, so we joined a wine tasting tour in the ancient city of Phaselis.

Bugün sizlerle geçen hafta yaşamış olduğum bir deneyimden bahsedeceğim. Bir arkadaşımla beraber farklı bir deneyim yaşamak istedik ve Phaselis Antik Kenti’nde gerçekleştirilen bir şarap tadım turuna katıldık.

This ancient city, located about an hour from Antalya's city center, is already intriguing with both its historical fabric and unique natural beauty. However, this time, we weren't just there to see the historical ruins; we were there to participate in a specially organized event.

Antalya merkeze yaklaşık 1 saatlik mesafede bulunan bu antik şehir, hem tarihi dokusuyla hem de eşsiz doğasıyla zaten ilgi çekici. Fakat bu kez sadece tarihi kalıntıları görmek için değil, özel olarak düzenlenen bir etkinliğe katılmak için oradaydık.

Getting to Phaselis was quite easy. You can easily get there by private vehicle or by organized tour. When we arrived, there was a line at the entrance, and frankly, we lost some time. However, despite the wait, the experience that awaited us inside was worth every minute.

Phaselis’e ulaşmak oldukça kolaydı. Özel araçla ya da tur organizasyonlarıyla rahatlıkla gidebileceğiniz bir konumda. Biz gittiğimizde girişte bir sıra vardı ve açıkçası biraz zaman kaybettik. Ancak bu bekleyişe rağmen içeride bizi bekleyen deneyim, her dakikaya değdi.

When we arrived at the venue, we were greeted by carefully prepared tables amidst the historic atmosphere. Seating areas for 5-6 people had been prepared before we arrived. We had the opportunity to meet different people in this area. This wasn't just a tasting tour; it was also a great place to socialize.

Etkinlik alanına vardığımızda, tarihi atmosferin içinde özenle hazırlanmış sofralarla karşılaştık. 5-6 kişilik oturma alanları biz gelmeden hazırlanmıştı. Bu alanda farklı insanlarla tanışma fırsatı bulduk. Bu, yalnızca bir tadım turu değil; aynı zamanda sosyalleşmek için de harika bir ortamdı.

The wines were served to us one by one. With each sip, we learned detailed information from the chef: the grape variety, the region where the wine was grown, and what to consider during the tasting. This conscious tasting experience was truly unique. Besides learning, we also enjoyed engaging conversations with the other participants at the table.

Şaraplar bize sırayla sunuldu. Her bir yudumda şef eşliğinde detaylı bilgiler aldık: Şarabın üzüm türü, hangi bölgede yetiştirildiği, tadım sırasında dikkat etmemiz gerekenler… Bu şekilde bilinçli tadım yapmak bambaşkaydı. Öğrenmenin yanında, masadaki diğer katılımcılarla da keyifli sohbetler gelişti.

After the tasting, we all headed to the seaside of Phaselis. We sat on the rocks by the ancient harbor, gazing out at the sea. Some of us took a dip, while others simply listened to the silence. At the end of the day, the lightness of the wine and the serenity of the sea combined.

Tadımın ardından hep birlikte Phaselis’in sahil kısmına geçtik. Antik limanın kenarında, taşların üzerinde oturup denize baktık. Bazılarımız suya girdi, bazılarımız sadece sessizliği dinledi. Günün sonunda şarabın verdiği hafiflik ve denizin sunduğu huzur birleşti.

If you ever find yourself in Antalya, I highly recommend experiencing something beyond the typical touristic tours. You'll experience a journey through history, develop your palate, and meet new people. It was an unforgettable day for us. I wanted to share this experience with you. Thank you for reading. :)
