(ENG-TUR) JOURNEY TO DATÇA, THE BEAUTIFUL DISTRICT OF MUĞLA – MUĞLA’NIN GÜZEL İLÇESİ DATÇA’YA YOLCULUK

Hello everyone, dear travel lovers;
Today, with this article, I will take you to Muğla, one of the most beautiful provinces of Turkey. Muğla is one of the beautiful cities located in the Aegean region of our country. It also has many districts bordering the Aegean Sea. These are Dalaman, Fethiye, Bodrum and Datça. This city has many beauties worth seeing. Thanks to a tour I attended, I had the opportunity to explore Datça. And I am here to show you around the streets of Datça through this article.

Bugün sizleri bu yazı ile Türkiye’nin en güzel illerinden biri olan Muğla’ya götüreceğim. Muğla, ülkemizin Ege bölgesinde yer alan güzel şehirlerinden biridir. Aynı zamanda Ege denizine kıyısı olan birçok ilçesi vardır. Bunlar Dalaman, Fethiye, Bodrum ve Datça’dır. Bu şehrin görülmeye değer birçok güzelliği vardır. Katıldığım bir tur sayesinde Datça’yı keşfetme fırsatı buldum. Ve sizleri bu yazı aracılığıyla Datça sokaklarında gezdirmeye geldim.

Our trip, which started from Antalya at 1 o'clock at night, ended in Datça in the morning. We arrived in Datça in approximately 6 hours. Of course, our first job was to have a nice breakfast. After storing enough energy, we would get lost in the streets of Datça.

Gece saat 1’de Antalya’dan başlayan seyahatimiz sabah saatlerinde Datça’da son buldu. Yaklaşık 6 saatte Datça’ya varmış olduk. Tabi ilk işimiz güzel bir kahvaltı yapmaktı. Yeterli enerjiyi depoladıktan sonra Datça sokaklarında kaybolacaktık.

After breakfast, our walk begins. Our Datça story started with a short speech by our tour guide in Cumhuriyet Square.

Kahvaltının ardından yürüyüşümüz başlıyor. Cumhuriyet meydanında tur rehberimizin kısa bir konuşması ile Datça hikâyemiz başladı.

Then we took a short break at the stony beach. The stillness and color of the sea were truly magnificent. Since it was early in the morning, it wasn't very crowded yet. We learn from our guide that this is a very crowded spot under normal conditions.

Ardından taşlık plajında kısa bir mola verdik. Denizin durgunluğu ve rengi gerçekten muhteşemdi. Sabahın erken saatleri olduğu için henüz pek kalabalık değildi. Normal şartlarda buranın çok kalabalık bir nokta olduğunu rehberimizden öğreniyoruz.

I observed that there are many cafes and restaurants around this beach. Especially the people of Datça spend time here in the evenings.

Bu plajın çevresinde birçok kafe ve restoran olduğunu gözlemledim. Özellikle Datça halkı akşamları burada vakit geçiriyormuş.

After a short break at Taşlık beach, we set out to go to old Datça. Yes, you heard right. This district consists of two parts: old and new. While new Datça represents the modern settlement area, old Datça, as its name suggests, represents the old settlement area.

Taşlık plajındaki kısa molanın ardından eski Datça’ya gitmek üzere yola koyulduk. Evet, yanlış duymadınız. Bu ilçe, eski ve yeni olmak üzere iki kısımdan oluşuyor. Yeni Datça modern yerleşim alanını temsil ederken, eski Datça ise adından da anlaşılacağı üzere eski yerleşim alanını temsil ediyor.

After a short journey, we are in old Datça. Its colorful flowers and traditional architecture stand out at first glance.

Kısa bir yolculuğun ardından eski Datça’dayız. Rengârenk çiçekleri ve geleneksel mimari ilk bakışta kendini gösteriyor.

I have to give you this information about Datça. One of the most famous foods here is almond cookies. We were especially recommended to try these cookies in Datça. We come across many cookie shops while walking on the streets.

Datça hakkında size şu bilgiyi vermeliyim. Buranın en ünlü yiyeceklerinden biri badem kurabiyesidir. Datça’da özellikle bu kurabiyeleri denememiz önerildi. Zaten sokaklarda yürürken bolca kurabiyeciye rastlıyoruz.

Anyway, we leave the cookie testing process for later and continue wandering the colorful streets of Datça. The small souvenir shops and jewelery shops run by local tradesmen are what attract my attention the most. I can't help but go into these shops.

Neyse kurabiye deneme sürecini sonraya bırakarak Datça’nın renkli sokaklarında gezmeye devam ediyoruz. Yerel esnafın işlettiği küçük hediyelik dükkânları ve takıcılar en çok dikkatimi çeken şeydir. Bu dükkânlara girmeden edemiyorum.

Now it's time to visit Can Yücel's house in Datça. Can Yücel is a famous Turkish poet. Since the house of this poet, who wrote many unforgettable poems, is located in old Datça, it would be impossible not to visit it while you are here. Although we did not have the chance to visit the inside of the house, we examined its door and the wall with memorabilia about it.

Şimdi sırada Datça’da bulunan Can Yücel’in evini ziyaret etmek var. Can Yücel ünlü bir Türk şairidir. Birçok unutulmaz şiire imza atan bu şairimizin evi eski Datça’da yer aldığı için buraya gelmişken ziyaret etmemek olmazdı. Her ne kadar evin içini gezme şansımız olmasa da kapısını ve onla ilgili hatıraların yer aldığı duvarı inceledik.

After this literary and cultural tour point, we go to a shop under the leadership of our guide to buy the Datça almond cookies that I mentioned at the beginning of my article. Here I buy almond cookies and almond sodas, also special to Datça. I really loved the taste of the cookies. But unfortunately I don't have the same feeling about almond soda. I did not like this soda because it had a bitter flavor. Still, I'm glad I tried it.

Bu edebi ve kültürel gezi noktasından sonra, yazımın başlarında bahsettiğim Datça badem kurabiyesi satın almak üzere rehberimizin öncülüğünde bir dükkâna gidiyoruz. Burada badem kurabiyelerinden ve yine Datça’ya özel bademli gazozlardan satın alıyorum. Kurabiyelerin lezzetine gerçekten bayıldım. Fakat bademli gazoz için maalesef aynı duyguya sahip değilim. Acı bir aroması olduğu için bu gazozu sevemedim. Yine de denemiş olmaktan mutluyum.
