(ENG-TUR) A CAMPING EXPERIENCE FULL OF BIRDS' SOUNDS IN MANAVGAT - MANAVGAT’TA KUŞ SESLERİYLE DOLU BİR KAMP DENEYİMİ

Today, I want to tell you about a calm but exciting experience in nature. I attended the bird watching camp organized by the Antalya Bird Watching Community in Manavgat every year.

Bugün sizlere doğa ile iç içe, sakin ama bir o kadar da heyecan verici bir deneyimimden bahsetmek istiyorum. Antalya Kuş Gözlem Topluluğu’nun Manavgat’ta her yıl düzenlediği kuş gözlem kampına katıldım.

I am attending this camp for the second time because my first experience was so good for me that I wanted to breathe in that atmosphere once again this year. We set up our tents in the lap of nature with our own camping equipment, in that peaceful area where the sounds of birds are the background.

Bu kampa ikinci kez katılıyorum çünkü ilk deneyimim bana öylesine iyi gelmişti ki, bu yıl bir kez daha o atmosferi solumak istedim. Yine kendi kamp malzemelerimizle doğanın kucağına, kuş seslerinin fon olduğu o huzurlu alana kurduk çadırlarımızı.

The campsite is located on the river bank, around Titreyen Lake. This is a business called Boğaz Camping located in the Manavgat district of Antalya. This area, which belongs to the municipality, offers accommodation with both caravans and tents.

Kamp alanı nehir kıyısında, Titreyen Göl çevresinde yer alıyor. Burası Antalya’nın Manavgat ilçesinde yer alan Boğaz Camping adlı bir işletmedir. Belediyeye ait bu alanda hem karavan hem de çadır ile konaklama mevcut.

A slight chill in the mornings, a soft breeze coming from the lake and birds moving on the branches...

Sabahları hafif bir serinlik, gölden gelen yumuşak rüzgâr ve dallarda hareketlenen kuşlar…

I can say that we never let go of our binoculars throughout the camp. Observing different bird species was both a calming and exploratory experience. Since I did not have a professional camera, I unfortunately could not photograph the species I observed. But the birds I was able to see with my binoculars are etched in my memory: Redshank, Crested Lark, Great Cormorant and Eurasian Plover... They were all elegant and impressive.

Kamp boyunca dürbünümüz elimizden düşmedi diyebilirim. Farklı kuş türlerini gözlemlemek hem sakinleştirici hem de keşif dolu bir deneyim oldu. Elimde profesyonel bir fotoğraf makinesi olmadığından gözlemlediğim türleri maalesef fotoğraflayamadım. Ama dürbünümle görebildiğim kuşlar, hafızama kazındı: Kızılbacak, tepeli toygar, kocagöz ve akçacılıbıt… Hepsi birbirinden zarif ve etkileyiciydi.

One of the most exciting moments of the camp was the sighting of the Tibetan Plover, which is said to have been observed for the fifth time in Turkey! Unfortunately, I could not see this rare bird species, but from what I heard from my friends, this observation was a very special moment for the camp.

Kampın en heyecan verici anlarından biri ise, Türkiye’de beşinci kez gözlemlendiği söylenen Tibet cılıbıtı’nın bu kampta görülmesiydi! Ne yazık ki ben bu nadir kuş türünü göremedim ama arkadaşlarımdan duyduğum kadarıyla bu gözlem kamp için oldukça özel bir an olmuş.

Being in nature, away from technology and being together with the sounds of birds, meeting new people, making observations together and just looking at the sky purifies one's soul. If you want to spend more time with nature, have a different experience and learn while observing, I definitely recommend giving these types of camps a try.

Doğanın içinde, teknolojiden biraz uzaklaşarak kuş sesleriyle bir arada olmak, yeni insanlarla tanışmak, birlikte gözlem yapmak ve sadece gökyüzüne bakmak bile insanın içini arındırıyor. Eğer siz de doğayla daha fazla vakit geçirmek, farklı bir deneyim yaşamak ve gözlem yaparken öğrenmek istiyorsanız, bu tür kamplara mutlaka bir şans verin derim.
