Tabby cat

This is Taba, aka the devil in the house. Her name literally translates to "fat" in Filipino because she was already "fat" ever since she was small. She was obviously bigger than her littermates, so her name got stuck until she got older. Vets would even wonder if we named her only when she got older or if she was already fat when she was a little and I would tell them it's the latter. :D

Her name is pretty self-explanatory which is also one of the reasons she probably thinks everyone knows her name. When some stranger sees her, they would make a comment about how fat she is which obviously would include the term "taba" and this is just my theory but I think she thinks they just said her name. :D

Now let's move on to the part explaining why she's the devil.

Ever since she was little, she would just punch and hiss at the other cats for no apparent reason. She just doesn't like them being close to her. It wasn't even because she was threatened or got jealous or anything, in fact she is the house favorite and the only cat my parents liked.. I guess she is just a bully. xD

Of course she is even more bully to my big dog Ethan. Sometimes she likes to lie down on the stairs just so my dog can't climb it cos he's afraid of the devil cat. My dog would just cry cos he can't dare come up and I would immediately know who's blocking him.

She is the hunter in the house and many times she has gifted me some rats and mice. I have also witnessed her kill birds on separate occasions. Even though I have tried to stop it but I can't. :D It's not like she's starving as well, she just likes to play with them. I mean, that's natural instinct for cats but I still feel bad for the birds since they didn't do anything lol.

Her face is cute but there's an obvious "I will kill you" glare.

I also think she's just a bit aggressive cos that's her defense mechanism. She's easily startled, she even has to look at me while I take pictures to make sure the camera isn't some random spray or something.

She's afraid of sprays (I think every cat is) but hers is like she has to be vigilant when I spray alcohol on my hands even tho I'm quite far away from her. I don't know if there were some people in our previous neighborhood who was mean to her but she was like this as far as I can remember.

Her favorite spot is on the dining chair.

The good thing about her is that she allows me to touch her belly which is really nice and soft. She loves to cuddle as well but only on her own terms. If she doesn't want it anymore she will just straight up punch you. Not real aggressiveness, but more like a warning punch for you to get the fuck out of her face. :D

She's the feistiest of all but would hide whenever there's visitors. She only comes to someone she trusts and it usually takes a while for strangers to earn that, and I think that's fair. :D
