Sticker art in Bangkok
If you've been following me for a while, you know I like to take pictures of street art both in my local place and especially in Bangkok. Their street art is very vibrant and it's like playing in an open world game and you randomly see an easter egg with these street art lol. I love to see their culture with them and also you can see a lot of pop culture references as well if you pay enough attention.
The thing with sticker art is it's so quick that's why it's also highly used in street art. There's less risk of getting caught compared to using spray paint.
These huge wall of stickers is located in BTS station Thong Lor. It seems like this wall is within a private property and I guess they allowed it since it got this big despite a lot of CCTVs and security guards in BTS but I'm just observing and guessing so I don't know for sure. :P
It was fun to look at. There's self-promotion like gen Zs promoting their social media and sometimes even dating accounts, there's weed dispensary promotion, political statements, and some promoting their art.
There's also a lot of crypto nerds in Bangkok, I even saw one tourist guy wearing a BAYC shirt in BTS Siam station. We also have a lot of Thai Hivers which just makes sense why you can also see crypto references stickers around.
Thong Lor area really has a lot of sticker art especially walking on the main road.
Before the weed legalization in Thailand, I don't think I saw weed stickers around here. But now, bruh they're EVERYWHERE lol.
Not sure if this is pro crypto or against? XD But it is quite true in some ways, Bitcoin can be volatile and the only "safe" you have is to hold it for years and keeping them in hardware wallets. The only non-safety first is the shitcoins. :P
...are you seeing what I'm seeing?
Weed + Elon reference. Maybe the first meme I found on the streets. :P
There's this one sticker I recognize and saw at some other locations.
This was near Khaosan road. I saw that Sawasdee eye art in Thong Lor in 2022 as well since it was catchy lol.
And this was in Thong Lor just a few months ago. The artist did a great job promoting the art lol.
This reminds me of the Philippines. Random stickers and possibly gang signs all around. The first picture with the stickers is pretty interesting though. I am curious if they are a store that caters to the youth and encourages this.
If they are then that would be nice. But it seems like they didn’t care cos you can only see it from the station on the “second floor” anyway, people from downstairs I don’t think they can see it lol
¡Excelente fotografía !
great street art as well as photography
