Macro photos at the park

DSCF7175.jpg

Photos taken with Fuji X-T5, 80mm macro

I went to a park recently to take some photos of random stuff and I realized that parks are a good place to take photos of nature. Since we don't have a garden with flora, nor some woods nearby, parks are one of the ways I can take macro photos more specifically flowers. I like them as a subject especially when there are tiny lil insects that you didn't realize they were there while looking using your naked eye. xD

Like this one, I didn't notice there was a tiny insect flying towards the plant until I saw the photo in my laptop.

It went inside. :D

Being a noob in macro photography, I ALWAYS forget to make the aperture smaller to let more area sharp. As you can see here, I just spammed the lens with the lowest (most open) aperture so even though I can get things in focus, there's just a tiny bit of the sharp ones and the rest are blurred out haha.

Here is how it looked like cropped.

When I realized this, I quickly turned the aperture higher. I think I took this at f/11. Since the sunlight was direct on the flower, I was able to do it with a higher aperture and higher speed. I need to experiment on the shutter speed and aperture and ISO settings tho, macro's settings are really different with portraits and landscapes.

This is a cropped version of the previous photo. I don't know what that white crystal is... Geez even insects are getting it nowadays.

This one was quite strange and obviously I don't know what that is haha. I just like to take pics of pretty stuff. :D

It was a really cloudy day so there was only a few times the sun came out to give me some dramatic light.

And last one is a pretty nice flower that I found on the ground. Love seeing some random pinks on the ground when you least expect it. :D

Even if you call yourself a noob, there are some great photos here. I especially love the first few photos, and it would be great if I didn't need a camera for this because even the iPhone 11 camera takes a long time to focus if you get too close to something.

Having the proper gear definitely helps but not impossible if you don’t have one. Yeah it’s so annoying to just try to focus for a long time, especially when time is essential for that shot. Like with insects etc etc.

What luck - to film the flight of a small insect! I didn't notice it right away either))

I found the second photo both funny and creepy. It looked like a monster with big eyes, and a very large mouth with multiple teeth when I first saw it. It looked like it was chasing the insect, and it was perfect when the insect went inside in the picture after. The pictures look awesome.

Haha I hear the voices of macro photographers yelling at me for the failed settings on my camera😂 Yeah this is also why I love macro photography so much, even you as a photographer yourself still get surprises after taking the shot.
