Beach stuff

DSCF8459.jpg

I've never brought my macro lenses at the beach but now I've thought about it, it actually is a good idea. So recently I was able to take photos of some random stuff at the beach.

First of all, we went to a beach that's government-protected so only limited amount of visitors are allowed so you can imagine the water is clear AF. I found this starfish (they have a lot of them in specific areas) and was able to take photo this close. You can see how clear the water is since all you can see are the reflection caused by the waves.

I don't know what's that white thing tho. T_T Saw some kids took out a starfish from the water before this but not sure if this was it so dunno.

I went as close as possible and now they look like teeth. :D

I was kinda excited to see some shells with living stuff in it but they were hard to find so I only found empty ones. :P

Ariel's bra. :D

The water made a cool blooming effect.

Dunno what these two are doing. :D

Ya, they are still under the water and my lens is above it yet I still got this clear of a photo. :D

Dead sea urchin.

This one is still alive. :D

There were live sea urchins being sold there too and you can eat it fresh with vinegar. I've tried it for the first time and didn't expect it to be good.

Lastly, while walking back to the boat, this fish swam and froze beside my feet lol. It was trying to hide I guess. Not to my macro lens boi! XD

Nice try but the clear water is not on your side. :D

I have never seen a startfish in real life, they are so cool... Where is this from?

The second/third starfish look very cool, but overall photos are good

Found any hermit crab?

Philippines :D I was hoping to see hermit crabs or even crabs themselves but didn't :< they were in the other side but they were so fast too so I wouldn't expect to find any good macro shots with them regardless lol

Made me really miss going to tidepools to find all sorts of beautiful creatures. Found an Octopi one time sifting through seaweed in a tidepool and a tentacle flopped out and landed on my hand, startled the sh*t out of me 😂

Whut that's so cool! I don't think I ever saw one at the beach like that haha. And that tentacle will scare me too. Good experience for you regardless! :D

Ariel's bra. :D

Thanks for the heads up. Lately I have found so many seashells, I just didn't connect with the fact Ariel lost so many of her bras 🤦‍♀️😂

Hahah it was the first thing I remember with it lol maybe also because of how it's placed and the skin-like color of the sand 🤣

These are lovely close-up pictures. The water is really clear and the sea pictures great 👍

Lol pretty sure you also have those there. I mean, we're not special, anyone can go. It's just you can't stay there for a long time and pretty much visit and leave after a few hours or so since there's really nothing much to do.

Amazing detail in these shots. The clarity of the water really adds to the impact of the photos.

Seeing your post made me miss going to the beach. It's been a while since I last went to the beach; I've been busy with school.

Honestly, same. I've never gone to in 2 years I think. Going to the beach recently made me realize how much I've been missing out on especially how close we are to the island. XD

Wow! The macro lens is amazing. They look beautiful all those sea creatures. Too bad the kids pulled out a star, I understand they can die due to stress just from touching them or taking them out of the water.

Yeah, also even little bit of exposure to oxygen can be fatal to them. I used to think that's harmless too but now it needs more awareness for that.

The clear crystal water is calling me again, it's been a while since I've been able to swim.

The beach is a great location for macro shooting, I usually do that too whenever I find myself at one :) Cool pictures!
