Mate and a bit of History || Mate y un poco de Historia [ENG/ESP]

Here in Argentina and Uruguay they tend to consume mate a lot, you might wonder what the word mate means.
And the name "mate" came much later, when the infusion began to be served in bowls that were formed by hollowing out the gourd. The word comes from the Quichua "mati", which means pumpkin.

But the origin of this goes back to the aborigines. An ancient group of Guarani called Avá used it as a ritual. Where a relative died, yerba mate was planted. Then consuming the leaves of the plant was a way of feeling that that lost relative had entered one and continued to live together". It is beautiful to be able to read those stories that go back to our ancestors and know that everything has a reason.
In the first instance, the mate itself was not drunk in this container, but the way to consume it was by chewing the leaves or in cold infusions. When those Spaniards arrived, conquering these beloved lands, they saw that it had a favorable effect on those aborigines, not only that enjoyed its rich flavor but had an energizing effect.

In my case, when I feel a little tired I usually drink mate, I like it very sweet, there are people who drink it bitter but I prefer to drink it sweet and accompanied with a little piece of cake or cookies, in this case today I had a little piece of cake
It is said that with the arrival of the Jesuits, America made it easier to share mate with the aborigines.

Buenas buenas queridos lectores del hive, espero nuevamente como siempre en cada uno de mis posts vengo diciendo que se encuentren muy bien, deseo de todo corazón que les puedan gustar mucho estas fotos que voy a publicar en el día de hoy.

Acá en Argentina y en Uruguay suelen consumir mucho el mate , te podrías preguntar qué significa la palabra mate.
Y el nombre "mate" llegó mucho tiempo después, cuando la infusión comenzó a servirse en cuencos que se formaban ahuecando la calabaza. La palabra proviene del quichua "mati", que significa calabaza.

Pero el origen de esto se remonta con los aborígenes. Un antiguo grupo de los guaraníes llamados avá lo usaba como un ritual. Donde se moría un familiar se plantaba yerba mate. Consumir luego las hojas de la planta era una forma de sentir que ese pariente perdido había entrado en uno y seguía conviviendo". Es hermoso poder leer aquellas historias que se remonta de nuestros antepasados y saber que todo tiene un porqué.
En una primera instancia no se tomaba el mate en sí en este recipiente, sino que la forma de consumirlo era masticando las hojas o en infusiones frías cuando llegaron aquellos Españoles conquistando estas amadas tierras vieron que tenía un efecto favorable en aquellos aborígenes, no solo que disfrutaban de su rico sabor sino que tenían un efecto energizante.

En mi caso cuando me siento un poco cansada suelo tomar mate, a mí me gusta mucho dulce, hay personas que lo toman amargo pero prefiero tomarlo dulce y acompañado con un pedacito de torta o galletitas, en este caso hoy me tocó un pedacito de torta
Se dice que con la llegada de los jesuitas América facilitó poder compartir el mate con los aborígenes.

Valores que hoy en día se han perdido en muchas personas...

Yo comparto el mismo pensamiento de los aborígenes, no sólo frente al mate sino ante la vida misma.
