I FAILED the HiveBloPoMo

Alas, alas! I will no longer complete the BloPoMo as I had hoped in advance, but ... I will just happily continue in the schedule. And if like yesterday so happened, I don't save a day... So be it. Too bad!

Yesterday I seriously didn't find time to write another blog for myself after I've been busy with other things all day. Not to mention, had to test drive our new car. It took quite a bit of time though. But, I approved the car, and not only me!

Skipper also approved the car

My partner and Skipper also approved the car, and that was the next thing that took me a lot of time. We started by getting Skipper used to going further and longer on the road. He'll have to learn it sometime. Yesterday we went to do that together, and today I took him alone.

Just my phone

Yes I know, I said I would bring a camera again, but I haven't done that yet today. Shame? Yes absolutely. But because we went to a completely new place for Skipper today, where I also know that there are a lot of other dogs walking around, I didn't dare to do that yet. Skipper had never been to one of my favorite places, "The Tree Park". A wonderful place to walk around, a large pond, where dogs are of course allowed in, and dogs are allowed to run loose here. That was obviously new to both Skipper and me. Don't get me wrong, he has been allowed to run loose more often, of course. Taking pictures when he jumps over a ditch does not happen when he is on a leash. I also don't take pictures where he comes running towards me when he is on a leash. But so far Skipper has only walked loose if I had a complete overview of the entire environment, and certainly not if there were other dogs present. Today Skipper was allowed to run loose while many other dogs were present who also walked loose. And that knowledge meant that I didn't bring a camera today, just my phone to be able to take a picture here and there.

Sublime Sunday

I can say that we had a sublime Sunday. I was so proud of my big boy! He bounces off pretty much everything he hears or sees in our own environment and sometimes forgets that I'm stuck at the other end of that line. But today, in a strange environment, with all kinds of strange dogs ... he was a happy friendly happy big giant. I enjoyed a mine jumping boy who acted like a puppy. He wasn't cheeky, he didn't bounce and even listened better than many other dogs, and much better than what I expected myself.

No idea what to expect

In hindsight I could have taken my camera with me, but of course I didn't know that before I left home. I didn't take any chances because I had absolutely no idea what to expect. It could have been that I had turned back after a few minutes. Everything depended on Skipper's behavior and how he would like it. Let me put that first, what I can think of for him is one thing, but in the end it's about what HE thinks of it. And as soon as I would have noticed that he was not happy with my idea, we would have turned around. Now that it turned out that he loved it, we will certainly repeat this trip again, and then probably together with my partner, and then I can certainly bring a camera.

It's getting closer again

It's a pity that I can't share with you the crazy jumps I saw Skipper make today, but I can show you the area where we were today. My phone isn't fast enough to capture my crazy German Shepherd in full action, but an environment that doesn't move that fast but it still manages to capture. Next time I hope to bring a camera that can handle that, and with that I fear that I will throw myself back in time ... the time when I had a great passion with all the love and pleasure, the passion for dog photography. It's getting closer again... and I can't wait to get back into action.
